I bought my first computer, a TRS-80, when I was nine. I still remember how it felt when I took the first digital key out and turned it, but also the wonder of the first programming language. It was my gateway to digital information. Before then, I had been a very computer-agnostic child. I did read books, watch TV. I never really learned any programming languages, though I did learn to read. I liked to listen to music, though I was not a big fan of classical music. I was, however, very interested in video games. I played computer-games for many years; I won several games, many times. I even had a very close friend who was a programmer. I played the Atari, and the Commodore PET, and my favorite game at the time was Space Invaders.
I played games on computers for a long, long time. I played the Atari in the mid-eighties, and the Commodore PET at various times, and I played several other games. I played computer-games on the Atari when I first got it, but it was a fairly simple game. The game was to shoot a laser at a small target placed around a small room. The target was to move to the side, out of the shot, and stop moving until it was shot. I won a few games with my Atari, and I won more by luck. I often would win the game by getting past the laser target, moving to the side, shoot the laser, and then shooting me. I played Space Invaders on the Atari, and this is how I learned how to shoot a laser at a target. I liked the game, but it was not my favorite game at the time.
