Prior to working full-time at IMSA, David worked in several capacities to support IMSA’s Security Products and Technical Standards Division – including a position as the chief technical officer of the IMSA Security Products Program. Prior to that, David worked for the United States Coast Guard on maritime security issues.
As a security expert, David has a depth of knowledge and experience based on years of working in some of the busiest maritime settings. He has helped build a reputation for himself to the highest standards with his commitment to developing maritime security solutions that are effective, efficient and of the highest standards in the IMSA Security Products industry. David has traveled the world to meet the needs for maritime defense, specifically for the maritime security industry. He understands this very clearly, as he spoke at IMSA in October 2012 about his background with US Coast Guard, and his experiences in maritime security at the US Coast Guard. Tips of the Day in Network Security
The attacks that have occurred in the last couple of days have been a lot more sophisticated than most ransomware attacks you might know of. The attackers are using “code extenders”, and this article will review how they work, what they do to infect an endpoint, and where you can protect yourself.
The malicious website can be accessed through the same search engine as the attackers to check that it currently has code extenders and, if they do, to attempt to install them. Once the attackers have successfully installed and activated the code extenders they will ask for the victim to pay the ransom to obtain their information back.
