Yakubu Barde: “The time has come for the government to be sincere”

“The time has come for the government to be sincere”, said Yakubu Barde, chief director of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). In a speech at the National Association of Bank Employees (NABE) in Lagos on Tuesday, Barde made it clear that the time has come for the government to be sincere about the need for restructuring and improvement of the banking sector.

Yakubu Barde, chief director of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), said that the time has come for the government to be sincere about the need to develop and diversify the economy. “The time has come for the government to be sincere about the need to develop and diversify the economy. We must not be fooled by the rhetoric of the government and the people in the country. We must realize that it is the very people who are the ones who make Nigeria. It is not so easy for anybody to succeed if they are in a place where they have no support from their neighbours. You can take my word that Nigeria can do so much but that does not mean that we should forget or be fooled by the rhetoric of the government,” said Barde who was speaking at the forum in Lagos.

“This is not because we have to wait for the government. We can make it happen. We all must make it happen. The time has come, now so we must make it happen to help Nigeria attain to a new generation,” he added. He said there could be no question of a government or a bank being the sole beneficiary of the efforts of others. “How can there be? Only a change in the way Nigerians behave in how they interact with the rest of the world. That is one thing that we must try and do. Let us try and make Nigeria more tolerant, more progressive, more caring,” he said.

Barde was speaking at the Forum of the Nigerian Bank Employees, led by President Peter Obi. The forum was organised by NABE in line with the bank’s National Banking Programme. The theme of the forum was “Building a Nation: Making a New Generation.

Speaking at the programme for the forum, Obi said that in any country there are always two sides.

Proactive rescue of the young children from the hands of kidnappers

(MEMO) I am sorry I cannot make it today. Not even a day goes by without news of a kidnapping. I have read, on many occasions, newspaper articles reporting the abduction and detention of hundreds of children. The number of cases has gone up since the beginning of January. A dozen or so are still yet to be solved. The kidnapping of children is on the rise. The perpetrators are always men from the street or the street children themselves, often armed. The abductions go on. A certain part of society, with its moral scruples and social rules, refuses to cooperate with these crimes. In spite of repeated requests, the police cannot be everywhere, everywhere, and always. The police have to act, and have to act with all the speed they can muster. We are, of course, aware that a child should not be taken from his mother in broad daylight, right out in front of eyes of onlookers. That would be very dangerous, very wrong. When a child is taken from his mother, the police should immediately contact the police immediately, that the child will be returned as soon as possible. The police always have to take into consideration that the abductor does not always know the whereabouts of the child. If the location is known, the police should be quicker and more efficient than they were in the past, with more precise and more speedy patrols. If the location of the abductor is known, the child should be taken to the location immediately, that the child will be returned. I know of many cases where children have been taken in broad daylight from their mothers and have been taken to the police, or to a specific place. They were taken where there were no witnesses, where it was dangerous for their own safety. Those cases are cases in which the police did everything possible and were able to recover the child as soon as possible. These are cases where the police were very effective at the scene. As soon as they were notified, they had to move in at a very early stage, to the location where the kidnapping took place, and to bring the child out again as soon as possible. The police have to consider what is the fastest and most effective way to deal with a kidnapping. These are always the cases that are difficult in general. I want to explain this.

Ask the Chinese for help – The FGK says

The following is the first part of an article by Eric S. Raymond, one of the world’s leading thinkers on security and the modern state. The second part discusses the role of Chinese influence operations in the world of international politics.

China is a relatively new development center for Western power politics. As a result, it remains a relatively small part of the world. But there are very large and growing interests in China – from the Chinese elite to the middle classes of both China and China’s former Republic of China, the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

I’m not quite sure how the two parts of this article interact: one describes Chinese influence operations as a unique and powerful threat, a risk to US security, and a potential threat to other countries as well. The other part discusses the growing significance of the Chinese as a force within the international system. I’m not sure which perspective is more relevant.

In the first part of this article, I talked about a phenomenon I call “China as a Threat”. It has to do with the way in which the Chinese government tries to manipulate the foreign policy landscape and the relationship between the United States and China.

As I’ve argued previously, China has three distinct but interrelated aspects to its foreign policy: (1) its political and economic power in international relations, (2) the use of foreign bases to increase its influence, and (3) its growing importance in the world beyond the traditional security areas.

China is trying to use all three of these aspects to shape the foreign policy landscape. In this case, though, we are concerned with the first aspect: its political power. The second and third are much easier to describe and explain.

In any attempt to understand China’s foreign policy, one has to begin with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its foreign policies. And the CCP is a political power that controls every sphere of the social, cultural, and political fabric of the Republic of China.

Tips of the Day in Network Security

Last week, a malware researcher named Jeff Garzik released the following advisory to the security community. I don’t agree with his conclusions and recommendations in general but, it’s really nice to see a lot of folks paying attention to his work, and sharing their personal observations about the security landscape. His conclusion, while not the perfect solution to the problem, is still very noteworthy and it’s very clear that the security community needs to be more active on this point.

If you have been using a web-based security solution, then you have probably seen Sophos as a part of your monitoring system. Many security solutions like Sophos are used to collect and analyze data, to provide a report and to alert you of any changes in the security environment (not to mention that they provide the source to a variety of different web analysis tools).
