Hitachi also intends to acquire the Intellectual Property and Technology rights for Logic’s brand new line of consumer products, which are targeted at the computer market that is dominated by a few giant players, such as Intel and IBM. Logic Systems is expected to focus on the consumer market, as its consumer products are less expensive and more durable than those of its giant competitors.
Logic plans to focus on the domestic industry segment, while offering an attractive product offering and strong leadership, Hitachi’s CEO Shigehiro Matsushita said.
According to sources, Hitachi is expected to launch in Q1 2014 and expects the domestic market to grow to at least 20,000 units per month, the largest in the industry.

Tips of the Day in Computer Networking
In the past two weeks, I’ve been involved in three major grid-related actions: the Google Code Climate Change Hackathon, which I participated in as a moderator, the Google Student Climate Change Hackathon, which I co-presented, and the Google Cloud Infrastructure Hackathon. While these actions were primarily focused on climate change, I found that they created a sense of urgency about the growing global problem of inadequate grid resiliency. I’m still doing my part, by writing blog posts and training on grid resiliency and energy management, and I’m happy that I can contribute.
In fact, I’ve been looking forward to the next event, the Google Cloud Infrastructure Hackathon. I haven’t been a part of a grid hackathon in over a decade, so I’ll be honest and say I was fairly nervous about trying to learn something new.
But I was incredibly excited to be surrounded by experienced individuals who were willing to teach me, explain things to me, and try to explain things to me in a way that made sense to me.
