BU Construction Round-Up
Get to the point in no time at all.
We’re at the end of a long winter, a long winter of getting the computer build up before the kids leave for the summer, and we’ve got the summer building up for the kids coming back after their last year, so we’d better get started. We’re looking at the following: 1) The power supply; 2) The RAM (if this is what you think it is); and 3) The main board. We’ll be posting the photos here of the current build, then we’ll discuss each part in turn. The first thing we can see is that the power supply has only one outlet. That’s the outlet with the red box at left with the green label. We’ll be looking at this in detail in another post. When I say “red box”, I’m talking about a black case with a big yellow label on the front and back that says, “R. That’s the power supply. For the RAM, we have a couple of choices, but for the most part it’s the same computer as I used in college, the same as we’ll be using here for the first time. What we do have are more or less the same RAM modules that were used in college. I’m not sure exactly what they are, but I will say this. The RAM is based on the Pentium 4, and has a cache of roughly 25 Mbyte – that is 2. 5 times the RAM in our old computer we built at college. We’re still not sure if that makes any difference, or whether it’s the speed or the quantity of memory inside the RAM, but it works fine in the sense that we can’t read or write anything while we don’t have the RAM in use. We can read and write all the time, but we have to do it separately. So, for example, we can read from the RAM, and then write back to it, but we have to do this a bunch of times before we can get back to the point where we can. We aren’t interested in reading or writing the cache, we just want to read. We can’t write back to it since we don’t have it in use. The cache is also on the same memory chip as the main board, which is a custom part – an Intel DIMM.

There is a new era of the ID Office.
The new ID Office is not something that is new, but rather is a much needed addition to the ID Office that will allow the ID Office to provide students and staff with the best possible support for their ID cards and ID cards. The new ID Office will help students become more equipped to be able to obtain needed benefits when they are accepted to medical school and/or graduate school. The new ID Office will also lead to student and staff being able to provide the best possible patient support and counseling for health care professionals.
This new ID Office will make it more comfortable for students to obtain their medical school ID cards and, perhaps more importantly, it will help students and new graduates get their ID cards in a timely manner. This will keep new graduates and new doctors on the job, which is important for our economy today and in the future.
The new ID Office will be located in the Student Life Office – in the Center for Student Life, the center is in the West Wing of the Student Life Center (SLC). This will create the best possible space for the ID Office. This new ID Office will be the last one in the Center.

Re-conditioning and improvement of air quality at BU – COVID.
“BU’s environmental improvement program is still under threat, as the company faces intense pressure from the Environmental Protection Agency and its own lawyers”, reads a statement issued by BU and an environmental group, Protect the Environment. “The EPA’s recent decision to cut its environmental improvement program by more than $300 million is a major setback for the city and for the protection of the health of city residents”, continues the statement. “The program gives BU over $500 million each year, more than any other city in the country, in support of health-related programs, like the BU Community Fitness Zone and the BU Center for Environmental Technologies. However, the program is facing a major challenge. As of today, the EPA has found that neither the city nor the BU Community Fitness Zone, nor both, are legally enforceable, and have determined neither is the appropriate way to protect the health of residents in the community”. The study presented in the release presents a summary of EPA’s findings and their recommendation concerning the legal status of the BU Community Fitness Zone and the BU Center for Environmental Technologies. It is considered that the legal status of the two programs is currently unclear and uncertain. It is likely that the BU Center for Environmental Technologies will remain unenforceable. According to the same study, while the BU Community Fitness Zone has a higher degree of enforcement, the problem may be more complicated than the federal government‘s legal analysis suggests, as the BU Center for Environmental Technologies’ violations are much more diverse than the city’s. The city’s legal assessment is based upon the program as a whole, and is a general characterization of what it is designed and intended to accomplish. For example, the city’s legal analysis focuses on the programs’ goals and policies and not on the nature of the programs’ specific violations. The EPA’s legal analysis is based upon the specific violation found and the potential penalties, but focuses more on the actual impact of the program in making people healthier. The EPA stated in its analysis: “We do not, however, have a strong basis to conclude that the actions described in this report would have a significant effect on air quality”. The release also states that the EPA did not present a “recommendation” to the city.
