Ask the Developer - Game Builder Garage

Spread the love

As of my last blog I had the time to complete several game builder garage activities. I’ll be starting with my main area of game building, making a game. I’m using Unity 3D, but the concepts I’m focusing on are very similar to the games available for the engine. Once I have done “Ask the Developer Vol 1 Game Builder Garage” I will move on to the rest of my activities. Let me know if I missed any, or if you would like to see another section for game builder garage.

As you might already know, the game builder garage is a section of my blog where I will post my latest game builds. I will only post the game builds that I have completed, so they won’t show up as completed games.

Do not post any games that are not ready in the game builder garage or already in the library. I will not post anything in the game builder garage that I will be unable to release, and is not in my library. I still might post something I think it’s cool that other builders have done or will be looking at, but it won’t be in the game builder garage. The purpose of this section is to keep the game builder garage up to date with the latest game builds submitted to the website. I will not put all of my games in the game builder garage at once; instead I’ll post them here to keep the game builder garage as up to date as possible.

You are welcome to post in the game builder garage, but most likely you will be unable to release. I will not post my game builds in the game builder garage unless someone requests them in the game builder garage, I will also not post any game builds that are missing features.

Ask the Developer, Vol. 1: Game Builder Garage

We have a new installment in our series of Ask the Developer videos, and this one is about Game Builder Garage. We have a whole variety of games and game builders, and a ton of great content, so let’s get started. Let’s see what Game Builder Garage has to offer.

Hey guys, thanks for coming. This episode is all about Game Builder Garage – my game building and game design game, for the most part. I built the game so that a person can build and design a game from scratch without the need to find an existing game that already does what they want it to do or that already does something that they do. If people are interested, I can send them to the show.

As I mentioned in the first episode, the main issue that I’m raising with the game is that it’s not really game design. The problem is that I wrote it the way that I wanted it to be, and so people are not building things the way that they want games to be built. So I guess we can’t call it a ‘game’ as much as a game mechanic that people can manipulate.

People are really building a lot in this Game Builder Garage – a lot of different types of creatures to create, you can construct, you can have a fight (actually, you can have fight for a certain time period).

In my video I’ll talk a little bit about what I actually want it to be. What I look for from game design is an understanding of why something is the way that it is for the player to be able to experience it and what that means. I don’t mean that they are building for the player to win, but more so, I am designing for them to experience what the player wants it to be. Or they are building something that is more than what they are trying to give the player.

Keeping track of markers with the Marker-Display Nodon

Ask the Developer with Marker Display is a community-made guide to the Game Maker Garage. Marker Display is a tool which allows players to mark the location of a marker during play.

This article is about how to use a marker to help with tracking in the Game Maker Garage. This is a free but non-official document which will help you know how to use markers in Game Maker.

The Game Maker Garage will be launched in the very near future and you can help keep track of the new markers and other elements such as the game interface.
