The vertical is centered around marketing experiences that are branded for brands, in an effort to drive brand awareness. The product will be available to consumers on Yahoo! Shopping with the help of Yahoo! Search. The Yahoo! Brand in the Know Vertical will build on the Yahoo! Branded brand and will be available to all Yahoo! brands. The vertical is also called Yahoo! Shopping because it will offer consumers the ability to place orders, search for products and receive discounts and other offers.

Yahoo! Brand in the Know is Yahoo!s first vertical focused on Shoppable Commerce, in order to create a digital lifestyle platform that will enable brands to create and share content with consumers. The company will use its brand recognition power and customer intelligence capabilities to drive brand awareness among consumers within the shoppable commerce vertical. Yahoo! Brands will work together to create their own branded experiences. The purpose is to provide shoppers with an experience that is engaging and that makes brand awareness more of a reality, rather than having brand recognition and brand awareness remain platitudes. Yahoo! Shopping will allow shoppers to buy any product they can imagine without any barriers. The Yahoo! Shopping platform will integrate into the Yahoo! Brand in the Know vertical and a seamless user experience that will allow shoppers to easily and securely shop and communicate with brands. The company believes that shopping will be fun, and that being active in the digital marketplace will be an enjoyable experience. Shopping will enable consumers to take pictures of products they wish to have and shop for them, and will be a way for brands to sell products to consumers in a personal way that will not impact their branding, but will enhance the overall experience.

Tips of the Day in Programming

Well, it’s finally here. I’m taking a break from Java for the next week, so I’ll come back to Java in a couple weeks. But here’s a quick post to give you a little insight into my opinion of that language and its successor, Java 9+.

You may have noticed that I’ve been discussing Java a lot recently. Maybe it’s because it’s not really my language anymore; it’s the one I have to learn if I want to use it in a professional capacity today. Maybe it’s because I want to talk about things other than programming, and so I do. I’d like to hear what you think.

I think I’ve mentioned as much as I can in my postings here; maybe I should come back and talk about other ways it could be improved.

One way to improve Java is to move to a more functional paradigm. This paradigm is called functional programming, or FP.
