From the Guardian: “It was the largest and most complete cache of computer software that John McAfee was ever to carry, until he was shot dead in his home in August last year. After spending the past two years researching the archive, the Florida software specialist said he now hoped to bring it back and share its secrets with the world.

The article on LZ Lakehawk and the Florida Software Archive was first published on the Guardian US website on 2 August 2016, originally published in the UK on 12 June 2016. It was written by The Guardian’s digital technology editor, Richard Stengel, and first published in the US online on 6 August 2016.

The LZ Lakehawk cache contains almost all of the code for McAfee’s anti-malware software as well as a host of other software for the security company’s various other products. The cache is housed in a secure facility at one of the company’s offices in New York, and was stored as a series of CDs. McAfee and his daughter, Carla, moved the cache to Florida soon after their father was killed. The cache is currently stored in an online archive, and the archive’s password access is restricted.

A special version of the cache, which has been called a “digital treasure trove” after McAfee, is being offered for sale on the website of the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST). It was developed at NIST by John McAfee, his daughter Carla, and the National Research Council (NRC), where McAfee has been a senior fellow since 2001. NIST’s NQA team also developed the tool used to help develop the cache. If you’ve used the archive, you may be interested in the NIST archive for the “Avalanche Attack”, a variant of the DDoS attack that McAfee designed and deployed against the WorldCom corporation, on which he was a security researcher. You can get more information on that by visiting the NIST page.

Two important dates for the Florida National Guardsmen.

Article Title: Two important dates for the Florida National Guardsmen | Software. Full Article Text: When the U. Army and the Florida National Guard meet in June 2010, two important dates are on the agenda: the swearing-in ceremony and the end of the first year of their respective services.

It wasn’t supposed to be this way.

In February 1993, Florida entered into a mutual agreement with the United States Army through the National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 1993 to provide a variety of support services for the Army.

Fire Support and Intelligence Support (FIS), a U. Army program to support the Army fire and security (AFS) communities with information and intelligence collection, analysis, and planning.

FIS was established under the National Defense Authorizations of Fiscal Year 1993 (NDA) of the U. Department of Defense (DOD) under a $50 million appropriation, $18. 4 million annually, and appropriated $1. 2 million per year for the first three years, with two additional fiscal years going toward the program. The purpose of FIS is to provide information, information-collection, and analysis for the Army on, in, and to the Army; support the Army’s mission and doctrine; and to provide a variety of other support services to support the entire system and force supporting the Army’s mission.

The State of Florida and DHS also were the primary financial sponsors of the program through funds received in FY93 and those appropriated for the first three years, respectively.

The first year of FIS was in FY90. In FY90, the Florida National Guard was called to active duty for a period of six months because its personnel had been deployed overseas. All other state and local government agencies were required to participate in the program for the first year.

FY95 is when the Florida National Guard began in an active role.

The Florida National Guard was integrated into the Army, as a National Guard Reserve, in April 1995 and on 15 June 1995, was officially made a member of the U. Army Reserve; was designated a “Reserve Corps” and authorized its own FIS program.

Tips of the Day in Software

It’s not so much the software, but the way in which it’s developed and maintained.

The software-as-a-service (SaaS) model is catching on around the world and if you’ve been involved in the business world in some capacity you’ve perhaps come across the ‘cloud’ phenomenon, the trend of using software services as the basis for your company’s infrastructure. Many companies have embraced this model, and it is now becoming the norm for software developers too. But software’s long-standing reputation of building large monolithic monstrosities is starting to change with the rise of SaaS.

The benefits of SaaS are numerous, but are we overlooking how it’s delivered? A good example is Amazon Web Services, SaaS which now rivals its peers in the industry. According to Amazon Web Services, it makes the most sense to set up a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution rather than a full on infrastructure.

Cost savings: SaaS applications generally run for less than the costs of their full stack.
