The Tbaytel: New Voice Communications Network is a new initiative of GSM network manufacturer, Nokia , that is intended to serve as a new generation of communication in public-private sector systems in a similar fashion to the way that the GPRS communication technology has been used in the GSM communication system. The network will be an international network based on the use of GSM and the use of the GPRS standards.

The network will be capable of providing voice communications via a telephone system, Internet and possibly satellite communications as well.

The system is based on the GSM technology and will therefore be capable of communicating via GSM or similar GSM compatible systems, either using the GPRS standard or the GPRS enhanced data rate (EDR) standard. The network will also communicate by Internet and via the cable system based on the GSM system. As a result of the use of GPRS, the system will be designed such that voice communications can be used in conjunction with GSM (as well as other information) communications.

The network will be operated within the framework of the International Telecommunication Union Telecommunications Regulation and Control (ITU-T) Recommendation D. 1344 : “New Voice Communication Networks”.

The objective of the ICTU Recommendation D. 1344 is to define the technical specifications of voice communications networks of the future, including the means of providing quality voice services and the technical measures to be taken in order to enable this.

The GPRS standard establishes the necessary elements in the form of a data packet, which are used for communication of voice information and of data, and which are then combined to provide an individual call or a call-on application. It does not define its own standards for voice communications.

The ICTU Recommendation D. 1344 calls for a system where various kinds of communications, including voice communications, can be used in conjunction with GPRS (or similar GSM compatible) information. The standards for voice communications are described in ITU-T Recommendation D.

The cost-effective upgrade of Tbaytel’s current fiber network is now available to all Tbaytel customers using the new Tbaytel fiber-to-the-home broadband service. The new Tbaytel service includes the cost-effective upgrades of existing fiber optic connections to Tbaytel’s customer base in order to bring the Tbaytel fiber-to-the-home network up to speed. Customers that already have fiber links in place, and have already purchased Tbaytel’s Fiber Advantage plans, can now upgrade their existing fiber-based Internet service to this service. The plan includes a “Home Office Tbaytel Network Upgrade” that allows home Internet access via the Tbaytel fiber-to-the-home network to be managed locally. The Tbaytel Fiber Advantage package includes both the Tbaytel fiber-to the home service and the Home Office Network Upgrade, providing customers with broadband internet connectivity that is truly seamless and hassle-free.

Recently, Tbaytel announced a major fiber-to-the-home network upgrade to its service based on its “Fiber Advantage” brand. The fiber-to-the-home network upgrade was originally introduced in January of 2013, and, after an extended period of testing and evaluation, is now fully operational across Tbaytel’s 2. 4 million customers within the New York metropolitan area.

The Fiber Advantage network upgrade is the latest in the service’s long-term evolution into a fiber-based service that addresses the major challenges customers face. To date, Fiber Advantage has been designed to address the customer’s fundamental needs while still preserving Tbaytel’s competitive edge. In other words, while Fiber Advantage addresses an extremely significant aspect of Tbaytel’s customers, it does not completely replace the company’s current fiber-based offerings.

In addition, the newly upgraded network also addresses some of the company’s current customer needs, including the need for speed that can be delivered at affordable rates. The new network service provides customers with increased speeds up to 6 Mbps, a significant improvement from the Tbaytel 4 Mbps speeds originally offered, while at the same time extending the customer’s network beyond just a fiber footprint.
