Abstract: Many enterprises are moving towards an ever more risk-prone approach, where the goal is for their data to be protected rather than defended. Most of the benefits of cloud based solutions (i. , flexibility, elasticity, and scalability) can be lost if security is at risk. We argue that a critical component of this “cloud-first” vision is a proper and consistent security framework and approach.

While the Cloud represents a compelling technology solution, most enterprises have adopted it reluctantly, with much of the security issues surrounding cloud hosted resources being due to the lack of a proper security framework. The result is that there is a greater emphasis placed on security posture and practices rather than the business needs of their security posture, resulting in a “cloud centric” security framework that is poorly aligned with the reality at hand. One such security framework is the Microsoft Azure Security Center (Microsoft’s Cloud-First security framework), which has had a great deal of success.

While Azure Security Center has many similarities to the Microsoft Azure Security Center, it is actually a completely different layer of security. While Azure Security Center has security elements like the Azure Security Center, a true cloud security center does not even exist. This is because, in my review of Cloud Security, I have found that the cloud security capabilities of Azure Security Center are much weaker, and significantly less well organized than the full Microsoft Cloud Security suite.

The other major difference to the Microsoft Cloud Security suite is that there are many more “layers” of security. One layer (the Windows server) is fully segregated from the rest of the Azure environment. The rest of the Azure infrastructure (“Windows Server Essentials”), is an integration point for all the other modules in Azure (the Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Azure Storage Spaces, Cloud Services, Azure Active Directory, Azure Mobile Services, Azure Functions, Azure IoT, Azure Virtual Machines, and Azure Virtual Machines Containers).

In addition, Azure Security Center is a separate service, and not a part of Microsoft Azure. This makes security management much easier to do, and also enables administrators to do more effective security work than they would be able to with the Azure Security Center.

Tips of the Day in Network Security

Every day, I hear from a customer who needs help with their network security. And I see their frustration reflected in my own face.

But I say that to people who really want to take their network security seriously. But that’s rarely the case these days.

You hear about malware, you see what’s happened to their hardware, and you wonder how they can afford to pay for new security equipment. Then a message comes in on your voice mail. “I think you should look at our new security company, pierpoint Security.

“Pierpoint” and “pier” are often confused together. It’s not “pierpoint” that I’m addressing here; I’m talking about a security company that sells equipment to help you with your network security. The two ideas are unrelated.
