Software-defined systems or software-defined networking is a type of software architecture where software, such as operating systems, network communication protocols, Web server applications, data collection, and storage systems, are programmable to function as a software-enabled system. It is expected that by the year 2005, at least $2 billion of investments will have already been made in hardware defined networks. While software defined networking is a new concept, it is a recent technology in the history of computing. The idea of software-defined systems emerged in the 1970s, and started to take shape as a result of the rapid growth of computing power in the early 1980s. As the power of computing increased, so did the number and complexity of programs and processes that could be run on the system. It was found that new and faster applications could be written in a very short amount of time. These programs were typically written in a language such as COBOL, or the C programming language because it was simpler to do complex calculation than it was to create new programs using assembler. The combination of the two languages resulted in creating a way to program that was simpler than programming in the traditional assembler-based languages. The idea of a software defined system grew from this, as programmers would find it much faster to write a program and use that instead of building a new operating system, or the networking drivers themselves, to interface with the system. This new approach created more efficiency in the way systems were designed and operated.
These changes were made quickly in order to take advantage of computers with the fastest and most powerful computers available in the 1980s. By 1984, there were so many powerful computers in use that it required a drastic change to the way computers were designed and operated in order to take full advantage of them.

Steadiwear closed a seed investment round.
Steadiwear has closed its seed investment round, the company said in a press release on Wednesday. The round included existing investors from the United States and from Japan and it was led by Besseres Capital. The company has raised the amount to US$2,000. Steadiwear is the first seed investment by Besseres Capital in 2018. The new i7-6700HQ/K processor is an incredibly powerful 32nm processor which is very similar to its previous 32nm counterpart, Intel Core i7-4770HQ – but with an added 256MB of L3 cache, rather than the previous 16MB.
Intel claims this is the first desktop processor which uses a 64-bit memory architecture. The i7-6700HQ should have a very similar performance to the i7-4770HQ – however it will be a little more expensive than the i7-4750HQ. This means the new i7-6700HQ should cost $3,250 in the US, or about $4,000 in Canada and $3,000 in Europe.
