Cryptocurrency is poised to overtake the US mortgage lender, Bank of America.

The two companies are close to finalising a merger, which could be announced as soon as July. Bank of America will pay $7. 4bn for the assets of one of the most valuable US startups, Altana.

Altana is a new kind of money: cryptocurrency collateralised in loans. Altana’s loans are backed by Bitcoin, Ethereum and other crypto assets — all of which come with the same basic security.

The Bank of America deal is the biggest shakeup to the US corporate market under the Trump administration, and it is also a first for the Securities and Exchange Commission, the bank’s regulator in the United States.

Altana is one of a handful of US companies that has raised billions of dollars by creating digital tokens of real estate.

Altana is the latest addition to the cryptocurrency boom that has swept the United States, Canada and other parts of the world.

“Banks are coming into the markets to make money,” said Chris O’Shea, co-founder of Crypto Asset Holdings, one of the companies that owns Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Altana’s CEO, Jon Huberman, said the bank will use the proceeds from the deal to fund research and expansion of its technology.

Bank of America spokeswoman Amy Zepeda said the merger will create “more capital and opportunities for American workers” while also creating “a more efficient service for America’s consumers and businesses”.

Altana has raised as much as $5bn in two private placements of digital assets backed by real estate. The deals are valued at $6.

“I’m a young entrepreneur who has a great interest in blockchain technology. I started investing in crypto currencies three years ago. I’ve only recently decided to accept the BTC.

The second one was Bitcoin Cash. I think it’s the most successful crypto currency out there right now. It’s a much more secure form of currency and I think people are starting to realize that. We have had quite a lot of people coming in for their own homes and we have been getting a lot positive responses.

The third one is Ethereum. I think it’s the most popular digital currency out there right now. So far we have gotten a lot of interest from investors and customers who are really liking what we have to offer them with our product.

We also use ERC-20 tokens. I am currently the only executive for our business and the company and I do all of the sales and marketing but I will be adding a few new staff soon.
