The Medical Group detects the cyber-forensic impact of the July 13 security breach
The article “The Medical Group Detects the Cyber-Forensic Impact of the July 13 Security Breach” describes how the medical group, which operates the largest hospital in the United States, detected significant cyber-forensic changes in the event that hackers had accessed medical records on its system. In addition to the medical group, other information security organizations have had to react to similar attacks and are beginning to make similar use of information in the event they are targeted.
Computer security is a critical aspect of the information-technology infrastructure. For the purposes of information security, computer security refers to the protection of information against unauthorized access, destruction, modification, and disclosure; of software and hardware; and of critical data.
The Medical Group is a large, multispecialty group that provides services ranging from primary care to psychiatric services and has about 100,000 employees. The medical group’s computer systems use Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Exchange Server 2007, and a suite of software applications used to manage patients and their health care records. The group operates approximately 7,000 physicians, and 6,000 nurses. In this example, the group has been targeted in a cyber-attack (“Attack”).
The attack targeted the medical group’s systems because the group relies heavily on the use of paper-based records to track individuals and their health. The use of digital records in the health care industry may not increase efficiency, but it may reduce errors, decrease costs, and increase safety. The medical group uses a complex security-management system in which the group stores and manages its records using a variety of software applications such as Excel and Microsoft Access. The security and management system utilizes a number of other computer systems, including a web server, a Microsoft SQL server, and Microsoft Office programs to manage the user-accessed data. In this example, the security and management system is targeted for a cyber-attack.
Hackers use the Medical Group’s systems to steal patient records. In this example, a hacker gains unauthorized access to the medical group’s records and creates a list of names of patients who were scheduled to be admitted to the group’s hospitalization department.
The Medical Group : Credit Monitoring and Identity Theft Protection
By William E. Darnell, Jr.
This paper provides a background summary of the Medical Group, which is involved in insurance for large health care companies, and its unique approach to credit-monitoring and identity theft-protection. Credit monitoring is a process that is based on the assumption that a patient can be trusted not to abuse or misuse the financial resources of the insurer and his or her medical group, so long as the patient’s medical and travel expenses remain within the limits established by the medical group. In addition, credit-monitoring mechanisms are based on the assumption that the personal information of the patient’s customers and suppliers can be protected from misuse and abuse, so long as their financial information remains within the limits established by the medical group. Medical Group credit-monitoring and identity theft protection systems are, therefore, based on a number of assumptions, two of which are critical to the success of this system, which has been termed the “credit-monitoring” or “financial protection” approach.
In this paper, the concept of the “medical group” is defined. The nature of the group is described and the “credit monitoring” and “identity theft protection” systems are described. The “Medical Group” is one of the largest employers (with a revenue of $20 billion) in the United States and is the largest employer in Ontario and a major employer in the United States, Canada, and other nations. It employs approximately 2,000 persons in the United States and another 6,000 persons in Canada. According to one recent estimate, the medical group employs approximately 4,000 persons in the United States, $1. 5 billion in revenues. These revenues are used to provide health care to approximately 40 million individuals in the United States and $4 billion in revenues in Canada.
There are three different types of insurance groups for medical practices in the United States and Canada.

The Internet is, as a whole, a vast and growing network of computers and servers, which makes the use of any attack vector such as bots on a system or data leakage the subject of great debate. In the last few years, the debate has become heated, and it’s understandable.
We’ve been using the popular, open-source software, Python, to create bots, which can do more and more different things than computers or users have ever been capable of! We’ve actually produced some of these bots that could put any system or person behind the wheel of a car, but it’s really time for a real hacking tip from the hacking community for anyone who’s curious to see what the world truly is all about in today’s world of computers.
The trick is: using a tool called phishing to put a vulnerability into a computer.
