Centipede 2: Recharged – The New Atari Centipede Game Recharges
For decades gamers have been able access the classic console game ‘Centipede’ on PC and consoles, and in recent years we’ve seen the classic game on mobile platforms and web browsers. However, ‘Centipede 2’ is finally reaching it’s arcade debut with all new gameplay and features. Centipede 2: Recharged takes its gameplay to the next level, offering up ‘experimental’ features which have been introduced to the original game. Centipede 2: Recharged is scheduled to be released for download on the Mac App Store, PlayStation Store, iOS App Store and Google Android Store soon. If there’s one game that can turn even the most hardcore gamer onto playing for a prolonged period of time, it’s Centipede. In fact, the original Centipede is so beloved that as the video below from ‘Play Ball!’ shows, the game’s developer, Aveline, was sued for copyright violation by a Swedish game developer, Jorgen Lundström.

The Atari Centipede is the latest in a long line of games from Atari Games, and this new game has a lot to do with a lot of the older ones. The Centipede is different from just about any other Atari Game and we had quite a lot to say about it. Before introducing it to you, though, there is a brief history of the Atari centipede.
In the late 1970s, Atari Games began by creating a new game called The Space Shuttle, which could not have been more different from anything else the company had done before. The Space Shuttle turned out to be a very successful game and over time we have seen a number of new games from Atari Games, some of which were as successful as The Space Shuttle, and others of which have failed.
In 1979 – not long before the space shuttle was born – Atari Games started work on a new game called The Atari Centipede. The game was one of the first of its kind, incorporating a lot of the ideas that were to become very important to Atari Games over the course of the next decade. In fact, the introduction of the Atari Centipede was the beginning of a period of experimentation at Atari Games which would make it one of the most important games of all time. The original game had a very simple concept, which was to be as easy as possible to play, but yet challenging enough that the player could get the most out of it. It was simple in theory, but much more challenging in practice.
A lot of the game’s ideas and concepts were already on the boards at Atari Games back in 1966, but there were a number of them which either were not considered as game ideas at the time, or which were considered as game ideas but were left out of the final product. None of the ideas that were suggested for the game came to fruition, but the ideas were very well thought out, and there was a large amount of thought given to the core concepts of the game.
A recent study published by Axios Markets, the world’s most comprehensive gaming industry trade magazine, has identified that the video game industry has an extremely short history when it comes to gaming consoles and mobile gaming. By the time the industry even hit the public consciousness, there weren’t even any new gaming gadgets being produced.
Gaming has been around for many, many years now. You might even have heard of us! We’re gamers ourselves. We play games. And we love it. But over the years, you had a few new video games come out but weren’t all that cool (and not very good). Some of them weren’t even well thought out. It was all pretty vague in terms of what was gonna happen.
And it was obvious that the console manufacturers didn‘t know themselves. And they kept trying to take as many of the games to the market. They tried to market them as much as possible and give them out. And it didn’t really work out all that well. We all know that’s happening now and it may be happening at a bigger scale and at more companies in the future. But we might be at least a decade or even more before we see the big console makers come out with a new console with a completely new vision of what what they’re doing.
Let’s face it, the video game industry was not created with a new idea and a fresh start. It was created with a very old idea and an old vision. And if you get right down to it, you can see that the idea is to push the medium forward and take people’s imaginations into a new light – something they haven’t thought about before.
As a very young industry, there isn’t that much history that really gives us an idea in what we can expect going forward. When we look back in history, the console industry came with a new console and a new vision. In many ways, what we’re getting now looks very similar to what we got seven years ago.

In early 2014, a number of new computer-based games made waves in the industry. However, before the floodgates even opened, there were a few different players who began competing in what could only be described as unique formats.
These were all games that had very different concepts and were built around different ideas and concepts rather than a particular genre or style. These new entrants began by developing their own games, but the result was a few very similar games, with a few unique twists that had a different and compelling format to them.
One of these new entrants, a company called Axiom, was founded by a young up and coming video game industry player from San Francisco, known on the playing field as Ryan “The Player” Stavisky. This company has a long and successful history with the industry, having developed several unique platforms that, while not being particularly innovative, are nonetheless different than anything else that came before.
By late 2014, Axiom had accumulated over 20 independent developers in its ranks, and had also started to put some real and long-awaited buzz into a number of its games. These were initially all released through some form of pre-release sale on Steam, but as the competition picked up it seems that some of these developers have been able to convince their publishers at major U. and European publishers to take a chance on their new games. Axios markets was even one of the genres of games that have begun to get some attention within the video game industry and have come to the forefront of people’s opinions.
For those that do not know, Axios markets is a genre of games that have the goal of encouraging people to spend more money in the video game industry. In the past, the format has actually been defined as a subset of the “Steam Direct” model. This is a method of selling products directly to the consumer, in an auction format. Games that are part of the Axios markets subgenre are typically sold through a retailer that either owns a physical store or uses a technology that allows them to sell directly to the consumer.
