The Most Efficient Use of Space

By using the most current methods available, the ability to make the most efficient use of space is no longer as much of a problem as it once was in the modem age. In fact, it is one of the critical factors in making your work more efficient.
The problem comes when there is inadequate available space to use, whether it be a networked or wired computer. Such are the problems that were present, and have been, in the past and present.
Fortunately, modern technology has given us the tools to solve the shortcomings of the past. These have a tremendous advantage of allowing the use of space at all times. We can now see how space efficient methods can solve the problem of unused space.
Consider the following. Your work space is limited, and you have a need for more space. Using one of the newer methods for space utilization, such as the computer network, you create a networked computer. You now have enough space to use, and can use it, with greater efficiency. So, you do, and it works perfectly. Now, let’s suppose that you realize that your available space is not sufficient to achieve this optimum efficiency, at least with the current methods. In this case, you have a problem.
Space efficiency is an area in which technology advances continually. In the 1950s, a very simple method became available. This consisted of creating a computer network. A computer network was a method whereby the use of space was made possible. However, a network was a means of communication, not something that needed to be managed. In fact, it was a method of sharing resources, not the efficient use of the available space.
The computer network did not, however, solve the inadequacy of limited available space. No one had a computer network that was all-inclusive. In fact, no one had a computer network that was all-for-all, a method to increase the efficiency of limited space. Such a computer network was known as a “bulk data network.
Today, methods for the efficient use of space are available.

One of my biggest joys these last couple of weeks is the opportunity to show A Quick Summer in Battle Creek. I like the way it flows and the way it makes me think. I like the kind of thinking that is expressed in the sentences that follow. It is an example of the kind of thinking that is needed in order to keep the Internet from fading away.

Battle Creek, Michigan, is a small town of about 11,000 people in the middle of Michigan, just south of the Grand river, and north of the Great Lakes. It is about an hour’s drive from the Canadian border and close to Detroit. In fact, it is right next to the Detroit airport.
Battle Creek is one of those small Midwestern towns that has a lot more in common with cities in the Midwest—like Grand Rapids, Rochester, Oshkosh, and the like—than with places like Chicago and Kansas City.
Battle Creek is a very special place, an exceptional place, and an exceptional place in history. It was built for a special purpose. It was built, that is, with a special purpose in mind. It was built by a government agency.
I’m going to be completely honest with you, because history books are not my thing. I’m a history buff. But I do want to tell you that when you read or listen to a bunch of history books, you have to have one thing in mind when you do it. And that is that the things that are written in history books, they are written with a certain kind of thinking, or a certain type of writing.
I hope and pray that you as you read this series and hear me say this, that you will take the same kind of thinking that I have, and apply it to how you think about your own life. Because you are going to hear what I am going to say and what I am going to say about the way things are done in your own town, in your own city.

The Kellogg’s Céréales are a popular cereal of the early 20th Century, and in the 1940s this cereal was manufactured by a company. Although this is the most famous version of the Kellogg’s Céréales – the standard flavor was not changed in the 1930s – and other versions as well were being manufactured.
The “standard” Kellogg’s Céréales were sold in four sizes – each flavored differently and with different packaging. The packages were usually in an oval shape and the names were printed on the box in black letters. The box with the product name was the standard box, and the other colors were sold in a booklet or with the box, to be inserted after the box of the standard Kellogg’s Céréales was opened.
It was a widely popular cereal and the name “Kellogg’s Céréales” was used in the advertising, but it was the “Céréales” that was used. But the “Céréales” have been in use since the early 1900s and in the 1940s there was a company that was producing the cereal for the Kellogg’s Céréales – which in the 1940s meant the “Céréales”.
