The List of Candidates for the Grand Haven Board of Light and Power
The list of candidates for the Grand Haven Board of Light and Power is being drawn up in an effort to elect an elected official to a four-year term. The group is comprised of business and professional leaders across the state, representing districts and municipalities. The group has been meeting at each of our local light and power districts.
This year we have a full slate of candidates for the board of light and power who are not currently serving. In the past, the Grand Haven Board members have represented Grand Haven, Grand Haven East, Grand Haven West, New London, and Monroe County. The four-year term of the board expired on May 4, 2017, and the board will begin its next term in November 2017. The board’s term of nine years will end the first Monday after the first Monday after the first Sunday in November.
We look forward to working with the elected officials in the Board to build consensus around policies that benefit everyone.

• The candidates are not being selected in a party hierarchy, but are in a broad consensus of light and power leaders across the state.
• The candidates who have been selected are Democrats.
• The candidates are also not being selected in any party hierarchy. They are, however, being organized in a broad consensus around key policies that are important to all who live in Grand Haven.
• These candidates will have to work to address the concerns of the residents in the districts they represent. It is a long campaign and there is a lot on the line, but the work is worth it.
• After the Board is elected, the candidates have a short timeframe to be a part of the work of changing the culture and the policies that govern the city of Grand Haven.
• The candidates and their staffs will also have to make a series of changes to the city of Grand Haven’s relationship with a number of public organizations and agencies.

• The first election in the history of computers in Grand Haven takes place at the Grand Haven Library on Saturday, November 2. This election is a part of a year-long campaign to make the city of Grand Haven better supported by the local computer hardware industry. Introduction.
The Grand Haven Light and Power Board (GHWPB) at its heart, if not its most visible feature, is the Grand Haven Light and Power Board (GHWPB). The GHWPB was built by a group of students at Grand Haven High School (GHHS). The GHWPB came with a few features not found on standard light kits such as an external audio jack, and a light switch. The audio jack had a limited compatibility with the GHHS Audio, so the GHWPB was very unique. With the video camera and video display included, the GHWPB was completely self-contained. The GHWPB was also the first light kit to incorporate a display screen. Even though the video camera is hidden, you can see the GHWPB clearly once it’s powered on.
The GHWPB only contained a few hardware items and an assortment of batteries. Everything else was powered by a single 8V (8-volt) battery. The GHWPB also contained a small 10V (10-volt) power source that connected to an external power supply. The external power supplies could be used for other projects too, but in the case of the GHWPB, these are dedicated projects.

It is very important to note during the construction of the GHWPB, that there were no instructions on how to use it. Once the GHWPB was built, the students used an image as a guide. The GHWPB also comes with an original, highly regarded, and highly modified manual which was written by GHWPB Student Kevin McBride. The manual is available online and can be downloaded as a PDF file. The manual was written for the use of third year High School Computer Technician.
The Grand Haven Light and Power Board came from a very unique type of light kit that Grand Haven High School (GHHS) offers. This type of light kit is called a “light kit”. During the construction of the GHWPB, a group of students built a unique light kit. These students came together with GHHS administrators in order to offer and sell the different light kits.

As a result, the city has seen a 60 percent improvement in its share of energy usage.
It is also considered one of the richest places to invest in energy technologies.
For instance, in 2004, Grand Haven was considered the top business energy investment destination in the United States.

The Grand Haven Bowling Ball Graveyard.
The Grand Haven Bowling Ball Graveyard was created in 1999 by the founder of the Bowling Ball Graveyard. The founder collected bowling balls after each round of a bowling tournament and then brought the bowling balls back to the ball graveyard to be “salvaged through the ages. ” The Bowling Ball Graveyard was born from a need to collect and preserve a bowling ball collection. Daley, is a retired high school mathematics teacher with many years of experience collecting, restoring, and selling bowling ball heads.
In 1998, the Bowling Ball Graveyard began its first year with the help of the Grand Haven City Council. In 1997, a Grand Haven City Council member suggested the Bowling Ball Graveyard get a permit to keep and sell used bowling ball heads. In 1998, the Bowling Ball Graveyard was the only city in Grand Haven County that allowed the sale of heads for salvage.
The Bowling Ball Graveyard has never been profitable. Daley has been collecting, restoring, and repurposing all of the bowling ball heads collected to pay for the cost of the restoration. The Bowling Ball Graveyard has now moved from a one-person operation to a non profit entity.
