Roku Streaming Stick Review
While everyone is talking about Netflix’s foray into Roku as an exclusive, Netflix is making it official. The recently announced Roku Streaming Stick will support Netflix’s entire line of over 100+ titles and will support Netflix’s over 800+ channels including HBO, ESPN, Showtime, AMC, Nick, Starz, and more.
Roku is still at an early stage in the evolution of streaming devices, but Netflix is going all-in on the Roku Streaming Stick, Roku Streaming Stick is a USB-powered portable receiver that streams Netflix to a small screen. It will use the Roku Streaming Stick software to stream Netflix directly to your television. It supports both Android and iOS mobile devices.
It will also allow you to watch Netflix movies in the background while you work, check sports scores, watch your favorite television shows, or even play games. You can even stream Netflix movies to your TV using a USB dongle, which only takes a few minutes of your time.
It also supports the Roku App, which will allow you to stream Netflix directly to your television from your iOS or Android mobile device. You can even use the Roku App to manage your Netflix account, find and watch your content catalog, and set preferences.
Netflix has also announced that the Roku Streaming Stick will come with the Netflix app as well. And while Netflix says the Roku Streaming Stick is fully supported, they do not necessarily confirm that it will be officially released just yet. We will keep you posted as soon as we do know it.
Netflix is still pushing the envelope of streaming apps and technologies as a whole, but it will definitely bring the Netflix experience to Roku streaming sticks. It will offer the same Netflix experience but on a more powerful device.
The Netflix streaming app on Roku supports the same Netflix quality, but it will offer less lag and more fluid motion with Netflix video clips.
Roku OS Update breaks some users’ choices.
Here’s a list of users (from a PC World article) who have experienced a regression to an older version of the Roku software on their devices. Some of these people may have chosen to return to an older version of the Roku software if they are experiencing the problem, but some have chosen to not bother with it. It’s a very common issue that most Roku OS users would be aware of, and yet most users don’t even think they need to update their Roku OS.
This list contains a lot of individual articles, as most of the people are sharing their experiences on their own personal blogs, or posting their issues on forums. In many cases, these people are also commenting on that same article. The list can also be found on the Roku forum and the comments section on those blogs and forums.
As a general rule, I don’t think a software update is just a one-time thing. You usually need to periodically update every few months.
For example, I was hoping to update my Roku OS to the latest version, but I couldn’t do that. As I kept telling anyone who would listen, there are a whole lot of things that need to be fixed.
The Roku OS also has a “Home Streaming” setting where you can choose whether to turn off the Home Streaming feature. Here are a few of the other things that need to be fixed as well.
First of all, you need to update the web view on your Roku player.
As I found out when I updated my Roku to the latest Roku OS version, all the web views on the devices did not work properly anymore. A lot of people had trouble with them as well, so this is a problem that was not just limited to Roku owners. Most other home streamers have done similar updates already. If you are using a web browser, try to update that to the latest version.
Another thing I discovered when I updated my Roku to the latest version is that the screen saver is now completely broken.

Overview: This is an update to Roku v10. 3, released on January 28th, 2012.
1) Added the ability to switch to the “Game Mode” in which you can play with friends.
2) Added the ability to set the “Play to Start” option during startup.
4) Added a “Channel Switcher” setting in Roku Settings called “Channel Switcher” that can set what the channel switcher will be for each channel. It will be different for each channel. For example, “FXX ” will be for FXX, “TV ” will be for TV.
5) Added the ability to change the channel to which you’re watching by pressing the “Select” button. The “Select” button will now also work in the “Channel Switcher” setting in Roku Settings as an alternative way to switch to what channel you’re watching, if you had multiple channels selected on your devices setup.
6) Added a new feature to Roku Settings called “Channel Switcher” that allows you to set the channel switcher that will be toggled on and off on the left side of the screen on Roku devices.
7) Added support for the new Channel Switcher “Select” button in Roku Settings. When selecting the button it becomes the default channel selected.
8) Added a new setting to Roku Settings called “Channel Switcher” that will allow you to reorder channels on your Roku devices.
9) Added a feature to Roku Settings called “Channel Switcher” that will allow you to reorder more channels than your Roku devices will currently have on it.
10) Added a new setting to Roku Settings called “Channel Switcher” that will allow you to set the channel that you’re currently watching on Roku as the channel that will be on the channel switcher in Roku Settings.
Dolby Vision on Roku without Black Screen Flashing?

I’m a web designer, and I’ve been working hard on creating my own website ever since I was in the first grade, where I built my first website for my first school. It’s all still online so it takes me a lot of time to design and code it, and I feel fortunate to make something beautiful like that every day.
My favorite thing about my website is the fact that I can easily add other people on my website as well, so that I can have a very big user group. It’s fun to see them check out my website, and I know that they would also like to learn something new from me, so I often tell them to check it out themselves.
It’s because of all this that I decided to try to make something really good by making it available for everyone. That is why I decided to release a new product: Dolby Vision (for Roku). It’s a web-based app which allows users to see TV shows, movies and other types of content, from the comfort of their own device.
The software is based on JavaScript, and it has a simple user interface, and some pretty nice features. For example, it is compatible with any TV. It can work with Roku, and it can play on any screen including Smart TVs that support Miracast, and Smart TVs that support Miracast, but it doesn’t work with Android TV, Xbox, PS4 etc. because it doesn’t support Miracast.

Because it’s a great tool that I myself use and I would like to give it to as many people as possible, and as a side effect there are lots of wonderful uses that I think deserve to be featured on the website.
With that, I would like to release a tutorial, which will help anyone to find out more about Dolby Vision technology and how to use it. I will try to make the Dolby Vision app as simple as I can, because it’s so hard to explain, but you should be able to understand this in one or two sentences.
