One of the main selling points of the new Intel Haswell/Haswell-E Cuda processors is that they have a floppy drive socket and a floppy disk drive. This allows you to boot from a floppy disk and then install your operating system. In this case we want to install Windows 10. Although there are plenty of floppy disk booting methods, we are going to use the USB flash drive as the boot drive so that we can use our Windows 10 install CD. We really want to use the Windows install USB drive instead of the USB flash drive we used when putting the computer together because in Windows 10, installing a driver and then using its drivers takes a different amount of time (about 50% more). While it is tempting to use the Windows install USB drive as the boot drive, this approach will only work in certain conditions because of how Windows 10 handles drivers.
I used a USB 2. 0 connection to hookup the computer’s C-ATA connector to the computer’s SATA port. I hooked it up to our SATA port (since I wanted to use the same ports as the C-ATA ports on our SSDs) and I used a SATA adapter (our motherboard uses a U-Type slot with an S-Slot slot). I’m sure I could have used a SATA 3. 0 connection, but I had to make sure that our C-ATA cables are capable of transferring data at the same speed as we expect them to transfer data.

We are going to use a USB 2. 0 floppy drive. So we need a USB 2. 0 drive (also known as a USB Type-C), SATA, and USB port. We are going to use our USB 3. 0 C-Type connection instead of a USB Type-A connection. The benefits of a USB 3.
0 connection transfers data at about 300MB/s.
The data transfer rate is consistent with that of a USB 2. 0 device or a USB 3. 0 device that has a USB 3. 0 interface.
0 connection is capable of transferring data at 500MB/s, so we need to choose a USB 3.

This month I participated in a review of the HP 15s-fq2011ns motherboard, a new offering from HP.
