Music Theatre International has partnered with keyboardTEK (pronounced “key-dee”), a keyboard musical instrument that was developed with a specific purpose in mind. The instrument’s key design is based on an image of an oversized, elongated, two-headed eagle. KeyBoard™ is a music keyboard that produces synthesized audio that is processed in real time by a keyboard TEK™, the keyboard TEK®, to produce musical sounds. As the name suggests, keyboardTEK™ is a keyboard musical instrument that was designed to produce sounds with characteristics and features that closely mimic those of real keyboards, instruments, etc. KeyboardTEK™ is a high production, custom-designed instrument that has an extremely versatile audio-synthesis sound engine. KeyboardTEK is an instrument that can be used for a large array of music genres, so keyboardTEK™ has been designed to produce tones and sounds that may not be possible with other keyboards, instruments, etc. KeyboardTEK™ is designed to allow musicians and sound effects artists to create a wide variety of sounds and tones that are easy to mix and match on music keyboards, keyboards TEK™, and other keyboard devices.

Rentals of Broadway Keyboard Programming for MTI-Licensed Performances
The original Music Theatre International has partnered with keyboardTEK to introduce its flagship brand of electronic keyboard programming to Broadway audiences. The initial product line, keyboardTEK, currently features programs featuring iconic and classic Broadway shows such as “Cabaret,” “Les Misérables,” “Into The Woods” and “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark. ” The company is developing additional programs and series designed for Broadway audiences in the coming months.
KeyboardTEK’s programs have been featured on Broadway on all six continents, and on the Broadway stage in the U. , Singapore, Switzerland, Canada in September, Korea in October and Japan in November. KeyboardTEK is produced by the Music Theatre International Division of Viacom International Media Networks and is distributed and promoted by Music Theatre International, the original distributor for the original Music Theatre programs.

The partnership comes as Music Theatre International is expanding its product line to include keyboards, drums and live sound.
KeyboardTEK: Providing authentic programming for theatre productions
Music Theatre International (MTI), the international producer of music theatre, has signed a distribution agreement with KeyboardTEK, bringing two major music theatres across the United States of America together (see Music Theatre News, Oct 2012).
KEYBOARDTEK’s first ever show in California, “Ciao Bella” by the original Tony-winning composer Alfredo Antonini, will become an MTI production, making it the only U. theatre production that will be produced entirely out of the U.
MTV News reports MTI’s involvement in this project will be important to the success of music theatre as it provides access to a large, diverse audience, while at the same time offering access to audiences who may not have a taste for music stage productions. This is of further importance in light of the current music theatre climate. The current climate in the United States of America is one of heightened cultural and artistic significance for the arts. The current trends, with many artists focusing more attention on alternative, non-traditional forms of art, are part of this current atmosphere. This provides an opportunity for artists to find new audiences, and new audiences to discover new artists.
MTI is based in Boston, Massachusetts and has been in existence since 1991. MTI has its own library of music dramas for theatre productions; of which, KeyboardTEK has provided the primary production of “Ciao Bella” by Alfredo Antonini. KeyboardTEK is based in Barcelona, Spain.
