What you should know about Virginia Tech No. 17.

The only thing we learned from this Virginia Tech team’s performance against the No. 16 Florida Gators was that, in order to accomplish anything, this team has to be relentless. 17 Hokies will have to be relentless against the No.

As I watched the Virginia Tech football team defeat the FSU team of the world, I could not help but think back over the week. I am not one to believe the Hokies can accomplish much against the No. 16 Florida Gators. They are not likely to defeat that group as long as the Gators win. The truth is, the Hokies have to play for the whole game.

There are several things that have to happen for this team to accomplish anything against Florida’s top-ranked team. The first thing that needs to happen is the Hokies must not allow their defense to get into a rut. There needs to be more pressure from the offensive side of the ball. Then there has to be more pressure from the defensive side of the ball. Lastly, there has to be more pressure from within the team. The whole point of having a consistent team is that players must be constantly striving to achieve better. This team needs to go out and do what it’s set out to do, not what it’s given itself the opportunity to do. I think there is a large part within the Hokies’ offense that has been lacking against the top-ranked teams in the nation, but it can come back to help the team.

I am not one to think that this team needs to play well in the past; what it needs to do is play consistent. This team has been inconsistent against FSU, and while I disagree that the team needs to beat FSU, I see Virginia Tech needing to put on some of the best showings in a Virginia Tech uniform by winning out over the Gators. This team needs to play aggressively, and play up to its potential.

When it comes to playing like a national-title contender, I think Virginia Tech should be more than ready for it.

Tips of the Day in Programming

(Note: I’m including more information about C++ in this post as I think it will be useful for you.

This is the first part of a three part series on programming that will describe some of the techniques that are most commonly encountered in C++, and some ways that you can use those techniques to build things. For the next part, I’ll talk about performance.

This post is my first in a series. You can find the rest of the information in Part 2.

Note that this post is going to include some information about C++ that you’ll probably have seen elsewhere as well, and some ways of using that information, plus a few pointers. I also include some links to some articles in my books to allow you to dig into more of the theory. The best way to learn about C++ is by playing around.

Programming by Using Reference Counting Locks: With the C++ standard library (in this post, I’ll use the STL), reference counting will not be necessary when making calls.
