As we are preparing for the next Avalanche Games to launch, Pim’s visit is an opportunity to think about the challenges ahead and how Avalanche can continue to evolve.

As Pim started to explain his plans for Avalanche, we asked him to give us an overview of how the company evolved.

“In 2012, Avalanche was founded as Avalanche Studios. We were one of the first companies to begin to build a robust game development studio in the US. The first few years of the game development studio were very focused on producing games for the mobile space. At the same time, we were building our first game engine. This was the same engine that was used to power mobile games and it contained a large amount of source code. This engine was called the engine. The engine was developed before the Game Programming Institute was founded in 2010. Later in 2011, we began to introduce the idea of an online multiplayer game.
