Fulton Community Development Agency : Executive Director Brad Broadwell

“In October, 2005, I joined Fulton Community Development Agency as Executive Director. I also accepted the position of Associate Director for Planning and Development within the agency. In April 2006, I accepted a position as Chief Executive Officer of the agency.

“Fulton Community Development Agency, with its location at 2200 East Jackson Street, just steps from the downtown Manhattan skyline, is the perfect agency for those interested in public-private partnership partnerships to help alleviate the housing shortage in New York City. And it is not just residents who can benefit from the agency’s housing stock, as the agency has been a strong supporter of public housing developers in their efforts to build, rehabilitate and ultimately sell low and moderate-income housing in the city. The agency does a great job of keeping both the agencies involved in the affordable housing process. Since the agency was established in 1999 it has successfully completed two major public/private housing projects. Fulton Community Development Agency is a truly wonderful agency and everyone should have a chance to visit.

“In July, 1997, the agency opened their website and was one of the first agencies in New York State to offer a service that would enable individuals, families and municipalities to buy their public housing and get a low interest, fixed rate mortgage at the option of the seller. As the agency expanded, so too did their website. In April, 1998, the agency completed a new website that offered a suite of services including a mortgage program, real estate brokerage and a portal to several housing related Web pages. This year, our Web portal was also expanded to include a suite of services from property management to housing management. In April, 1998, the agency opened their Web portal, HomeSmart. com], the first agency in New York State to sell Web-based services to property owners and managers.

“In 1999, the website for Fulton Community Development Agency’s mortgage, real estate and public housing programs was expanded. The agency established their Web site, Homesmart. com, in 1998, and then launched the mortgage service in 1999 and the public housing portal in 2000. The Agency is now operating a Web-based portal, which is a key component of housing service programs.

Python is a popular open-source and dynamic programming language, with a number of libraries, tools and packages (many of which are open source). It’s worth noting, however, that Python is a dynamic language and there are times when it’s not as easy to get going, as it is with Perl, PHP and Java.

Python is an OO (object-oriented) language, so there are a number of ways to do OO in Python.

Python – A simple dynamic language with an underlying set of object-orientated data structures.
