Software magazine recently published its second edition of its Top Tech Startups of 2017 report and Software magazine’s editor-in-chief, John E. Ryan, has been named this year’s winner for the top Tech Startups of 2018 report, also published this month. The winner for the Top Tech Startups of 2018 is the software company that is developing the best software products.

Abstract: Continuing learning is all around us. The Internet offers instant access to content, such as e-books, e-journal articles, and software programs, which often have no direct relevance to the learner. In this paper, we compare the effects of continuing learning on learning and development in two contexts–online and on-line learning. We conclude that continuing learning can be useful in both contexts and that the benefits depend strongly on the nature of the continuing learning materials. The authors conclude that continuing learning is a good strategy for increasing self-efficacy in a variety of contexts, such as in classrooms, online forums, and workgroups, and further conclude that continuing learning can be useful for improving the quality of learning outcomes and for enhancing the learning experience.

This journal is published by the International Federation for Information Processing and Knowledge Exchange to promote the dissemination of research in the field of Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D). The JAXA (Industry Alliance for Global Communications) working group has been making progress with an effort dubbed “JAXA-based Java/Android”. This initiative is similar to the JAXA-based JSR (Java Specification Request), which has a similar purpose as “JAXA-based Java” is just a generic JSR.

The JAXA-based Java/Android initiative has been started by the JAXA Working Group that is made up of leading Java/Android companies. These companies include Sony and Qualcomm, Intel, Amazon, and IBM. Each of the companies who are working on the development of JAXA-based Java/Android are providing a public link to their research page that will provide detailed documentation and additional information.
