QuakeCon 2021 Schedule Update
If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering how these dates and times will go down when the Quakecon convention returns to San Fransisco next month. I’ve seen so many “what-if” scenarios that I think we could end up losing about a third of the convention’s guests this time around. However, the new schedule for the event has been updated with the most up to date announcements. I’ll try and make this a quick read – if you have any questions, or if you just want to chime in and tell me your thoughts, let me know below the fold. Update: I’ve since changed the wording on the article’s tags so that it now says “Quakecon 2021” but will probably get in trouble for that.
After a successful debut last year, the QuakeCon event has been well received by the community. It’s become a very popular convention for the community, and for the Quake community as a whole (I know it’s cool and I appreciate this). Unfortunately, not everyone found the experience in 2021 as pleasant as those who attended last year. In my first go around of the event, I found a lot of the new announcements to be somewhat disappointing, but I did find the convention to be a lot more welcoming than I expected. At least it seems Quake players are still having their fun, even if they are having to travel further south than normal. There are still some exciting announcements that will be made before Quakecon returns, and I’ll try and update this article with these announcements so you can be up to date.
I’ll try to keep things up to date with the schedule for 2021 as best as I can.
I’ve changed the title of the article from the originally planned title of “BETA” back to “Quakecon 2021”. I’m just so sick of not being able to keep track of it any more.
While the Monster Cup is a little behind schedule this year, it’s still going strong and it’s a good addition to the convention.

“Quake is back” with machine games

This is the fourth biggest quake recorded on the map. The Japan Earthquake Early Warning System is created in 2008, with a goal of detecting and warning before any other country [7]. This, like the two previous, and the Great Hanshin Earthquake, has not been felt. This is the first time since 2008 that the Japan Meteorological Agency has confirmed that the earthquake has occurred. The US Geological Survey has also confirmed that the earthquake has occurred. This is also the first time that the US has confirmed that it was a quake. The Great Hanshin Earthquake was also a quake [8]. It was also the first large earthquake in the US since 2008. It also destroyed the Japanese National Diet building [9] and killed four people and injured over 200. Japanese officials have said that they will continue to observe a series of earthquakes, which could have a significant impact on business in Japan and on Japanese society. What is happening at QuakeCon 2021?
Welcome back to the next edition of the Computer Hardware for the Week, which this week will discuss all things software and hardware. We will take a look at some of the recent topics covered at the last edition. This week, we will address more of the hardware side, such as the PlayStation Switch, Oculus Rift (VR) and PlayStation VR.
Oculus Rift was the first successful virtual reality headset, and it didn’t go all that well. While the headset worked well in limited testing, it seems that at some point in time VR may be going the way of the dodo bird. While the company has stated it will continue developing the Rift, its focus is not on creating a truly immersive experience, but on the creation of the best Oculus. The reason this is true is that Oculus has struggled to make a compelling consumer device, and they have found a way to make everything a bit too easy.
The biggest problem was that Oculus was developing the headset with very little knowledge of the industry and making decisions based simply on the idea of what was needed. Oculus’ first device was the $99 Samsung Gear VR, and then at some point, they started to feel overwhelmed by the amount of development resources they were asked to devote. At one point, Oculus used to take on projects alone as a team, and the team was given to develop hardware and software. However, the project grew to become too large, and it was clear that they were building something much more complicated than what they needed to accomplish. This is the point where Oculus decided to try and merge the headset’s hardware with the software rather than build the hardware alone. This was to provide developers with an easy way to use the headset, but it created many problems. The hardware and software were difficult to work with, the interface was confusing (especially for those unfamiliar with VR), and there was little incentive for people to buy the device.
Of course, the problem here was not that Oculus did not make good hardware. The software was a different story.
Tips of the Day in Computer Hardware
More and more people are getting plugged into gadgets with GPS, but now there are also GPS-equipped computers. It is no longer a matter of whether or not you will be able to tell whether you are in the company of your GPS device; now you can tell whether your device has been placed in your pocket or purse. Or whether the GPS device will have a GPS receiver. Or if it uses GPS, how you will receive the information coming from the device. This is a fundamental change in the way we use mobile devices and GPS devices.
The first is GPS-enabled watches. The watches will be fitted with GPS receivers and be able to automatically receive location information. These are not just wristwatches. The watches will be attached to most electronics.
The second is that every product sold in the world in the next few years will have a digital display connected to a GPS receiver.
