Last year, NVIDIA’s Virtual Reality Developers Toolkit (VRDTK) was developed to serve as a comprehensive learning framework for building deep learning (DL) software for virtual reality (VR) applications. To that end, the VRDTK enables developers to train a deep neural network architecture to solve a wide range of VR training-related problems.

To help developers verify their experiences, NVIDIA also launched a dedicated developer forum, VRDTK Forum. The forum is an active area for developers to discuss both issues related to the VRDTK and provide comments on updates and issues that arise as part of the development process.

For this article, we will focus on the two public test environments: VRDTK-VR and VRDTK-VR2. The original VRDTK-VR was released in September 2016, and we’ve since released the source code for VRDTK-VR2 and VRDTK-VR2. This version of the VRDTK includes updates and improvements to the VRDTK framework that were created to address a number of issues in the previous version.

The two public test environments provide a number of important challenges. For example, both of them require a considerable amount of training data, which may make them very challenging to run for a developer. In addition, both of them require that the architecture of the DL software have been already trained on a dataset that was used to train the VRDTK framework.

The two environments also differ in that the former is a VR training simulator that involves physically simulating a VR environment while the latter is a real-world application. The data used to train the DL networks for each of the two environments were also different: while both of them use a large number of images of the same VR environment, the data for the real-world application was created by running an application on a desktop computer.

Both of the two environments are also different in that the first provides access to data that was created using the Oculus Rift SDK, the second provides access to data created using the Unity SDK.

In the GPU research, it was found that it is possible to simulate a scene with the highest quality on a GPU with a large number of samples.
