The arrest was made Friday afternoon in Orlando, Fla. Police said the man was taken into custody after he allegedly wrote “COPS MUST BE PROTECTED” on a laptop in a bathroom at the jail. The laptop was a student computer.

The suspect, Josh Duggar, 21, a married father of two and the former star of “Till I Met You,” remains in the custody of local police. Police said he then allegedly took the keys from his cell door and went outside to try to get a computer.

Tips of the Day in Computer Security

Here are a few quick tips on how to stay safe online, even if you’re not going to be online for the real-world for a while.

What if someone takes down your website, your web site? If they’re not your customer, they’re obviously not malicious. They’re doing it because they’ve got some other, more valuable customers. They are in business just like you.

On this day, two separate events have occurred that you’re not likely to have to worry about if you don’t have customer support from whoever made the decision to take down your website. One is the loss of a domain name and the second is the closure and termination of a customer service business with a good history.

Your web site is a potential target. If a domain name is taken offline, you can’t even ask for help. You’re just stuck with having to move to some other hosting platform. Worse, depending on how serious you take this, you could even end up being forced to get a new, smaller web site that could make you even less money.

But this situation is just the tip of the iceberg.
