Google, to a lesser extent, has faced a similar challenge when it comes to Android apps. Google is forced to shut down nine of its own apps, some of which provide services to other Google Apps. Android One devices (aka Android One smartphones) will no longer be able to access the Google Play store, but will instead receive their software updates from the Google Play app store, which means that users will need to wait a couple more days for the apps to be updated, or go through the hassle of installing an app from the Android Market directly from their phone.
All nine apps are Google apps, and not some other service. But the Google Apps that are currently unavailable on Android One devices include Gmails, Google Voice on iOS, Google Talk on Android, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Photos, Google Talk, Google Search, Google Translate, and Google Hangouts. This list is based only on the apps that are not available for the Android One devices, and not on all of these apps.
I was recently contacted by a spokesperson for one of the apps not currently available, and their response was as follows: “We can’t verify that Google will be continuing to continue support for these apps, and we’re working with the other partners to ensure they have access to these apps.
One of the companies mentioned in the email is Airtel, one of the carriers that offers access to the Google Apps for Android One devices.
I decided to reach out to Airtel to ask if it is having any success with its Google Apps for Android One device. I was able to speak to a public information officer on Airtel’s support page, who did not seem to have all available information about what is being deployed on the Airtel phones. I was told by an Airtel spokesperson, “The Google app is available on all our devices. We have been testing it and our tests show that when we launched the app last month we were able to access it. ” The spokesperson did not, however, indicate when the service was first launched, just that Google had been testing it since the beginning.
It is unknown what impact this has had on the other partners.

The malware he found was designed to mimic legitimate Google Play Store apps, though he couldn’t determine if they were actually legitimate games. The malware was designed to automatically install itself within the user’s system, and the user would need to have installed a particular game to take advantage of the malware, Dr Web writes. While the malware is still not fully proven to work, Dr Web’s research does confirm that it is a serious threat, and that users should be on the lookout for it in their apps.
In an article published earlier this month on the Antivirus & Malware website, Dr Web outlined his findings on five variants of malware he found on Android. Dr Web found that all five of the infections have been identified using Android versions 4. 2 or higher of the Google Play Store, which is widely used for apps like movies, music, web apps, messaging apps and others. The malware infection is called “Dr Web’s Package,” and is known for its ability to automatically install itself within the user’s system and then take over the entire system, Dr Web found that it is using methods that mimic legitimate apps.
The malware, which Dr Web dubs “Dr Web’s Package,” was first identified in the Android 1. 3 developer beta release, at which time the malware was still being tested, and had not yet been released as either an active or benign file or as a payload for an existing infection. After the Android 1. 4 developer beta release, Dr Web has continued to research it, and has confirmed that the malware and other associated malicious files were actually uploaded from the Google Play Store prior to the Android 1. 5 release, and that the original Android developer team was in possession of the samples before the Android 1. Dr Web says that the samples were taken from the Google Play Store after the Android 1.
