EA is denying rumors that it is selling in-game advertising in the forthcoming games for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

This is just a quick note to let us know that we are finally able to post about the various rumors that have been flying around the Internet since the Xbox Live conference has ended (this will probably be a weekly thing over the next couple weeks as some information comes in).

I will try to write a recap of what I did see at the conference and the various rumors that I came away with and then I will try to explain the reasons for the rumors. I try to note that the fact that a rumor is considered to be true doesn’t necessarily equate to it being a fact unless it can be proven to be true. and even then, I think there are some reasonable doubts that we may have come to realize about a new in-game advertising being in the forthcoming Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games.

The Xbox Live conference ended at about 1800 hours on Friday. From what I was able to see, there was lots of interesting info on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 (and PC) games and the game announcements for each platform as well. This information was spread across the conference and if you read the various blogs that we have posted about the conference, it appears to be that we will have new information for the next couple of weeks as we get a few reports of new titles and games coming out.

So, for now, the information is still evolving as we continue to hear more information for each platform on the conference tonight as well as getting more information from a few sources who have heard different rumors and have some more information to share.

For the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the information we are talking about are things that have been given to us by a few bloggers who have heard these rumors and have some more information to share. We have not confirmed any of these rumors as the information that we are talking about is still coming in as we gather more information.

For the PC/Mac, there is not really that much information to say for the most part because most of the information is coming from developers who have heard the rumors.

For the Mac, I’m not sure we have any information at all.

Comment on In-Game Advertising for Console Games

Is EA Really Considering Putting TV-style ads inside its PC games?

It’s hard to think of a feature or feature in a game that has so many fans, and no one wants to play them. They’ve all been begging and pleading for games with ads. They’ve been craving the new, the shiny—the things that would impress them. And then they come to EA and the ad department and they say “No! We won’t do that.

But even as a fan of gaming, I understand the desire, the need. The commercials have worked wonders for me over the years. There’s always something new going on in the games; I know they can’t be all about how great they are. But I have to admit, I don’t know that there’s anything much wrong with them. They get right in your face every once in awhile; you feel like you’re missing something as well as getting in on an exciting, fresh, and new adventure.

But if they don’t give you what you want, what is the point? The point is, there’s always a reason, and it’s there for all to see.

So how about we start with what, if anything, do the commercials do instead? Because in my humble opinion, the answer has a lot to do with the advertising itself. It makes the game more exciting, and I can see why. It’s a lot like any other feature the game might have, such as being a level editor, a puzzle editor, a world editor, or a character editor. In those cases, it’s a huge difference between the game and the ads; the ads will give you the feature that you need instead of the feature you want to have. They give you something the game is missing, and they get you to engage with it.

So why should the commercials be any different? Well, I don’t want to take away from that, but there are a couple of reasons I can see that they would be better than the ads.

First, the commercials almost always give you what you have to know already. They are usually already in the game, and you can get them right in the middle of your level, or at the beginning of your level, or at the end of your level.
