Blue Cruise – A New Web Design
A new design, developed by a team of researchers at Columbia University, has been adopted by Google as part of an effort to address the concerns of software designers. The Blue Cruise project has proposed two major changes to the Web standards proposal that was published in July. One change was to permit “non-canned comments”, which are intended to enable software designers to express their concerns in a more timely and professional manner. Another change is to require that a user click a “prohibit” button to stop editing. The resulting changes are designed to eliminate some of the ambiguities that have been inherent in the proposal.

The following is a letter sent to the United States District Court in Atlanta, Georgia and sent to the judges in the Southern District of Florida, as requested, by the plaintiff-intervenor, the State of Alabama, in an action it commenced in August of 1971, against the manufacturers and dealers of the aforesaid cruises for the alleged violation of the Sherman Act, 15 U. 1 and 2; the Robinson-Patman Act, 15 U. 13; the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U. 207, et seq. ; The Petroleum Act, 27 U. ; the Fair Dealer’s Act, 15 U. 26; the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, 30 U. 2102; the Securities Act of 1933, 15 U. ; the Tennessee Antitrust Act, Tenn. 4-2102; the Truth in Lending Act, 26 U. 4001 et seq. ; the Federal Trade Commission Act, 15 U. , and the state statutes and common law dealing with unfair competition, unfair business practices and monopoly, specifically those dealing with “Blue Cruise” and “Blue Eagle” in the marine field and relating to the sale of marine motors; the acts and agreements of the parties herein complained of are alleged to be in violation of title 15, United States Code, section 1; and a preliminary injunction is sought by the plaintiff against the use of the name “Blue Cruise” by the defendants in connection with the sale of motor vehicles and related products. The defendants are American Motors Corporation, General Motors Company, and General Motors Acceptance Corporation. The plaintiffs in their complaint allege that in the course of business from 1931 to the present time, and prior to the institution of this lawsuit, each of the defendants has been engaged in the business of selling and selling motor vehicles on a nationwide commercial basis and the products of each of these defendants are known as: (1) marine motors; (2) marine engines; and (3) marine chassis and engines.

Many people argue that this is just a mirage. A lot of people are excited about it. We might not know what this future is going to be exactly, but there’s a lot the vehicle maker that’s interested in it. Let’s be real, self-driving cars are coming, and it is going to be a lot different than what we’ve already known. So is it a little bit out of the ordinary? The auto industry is definitely growing at a rapid rate. We live in a time when the companies that are making money from autonomous vehicles are not only growing at an incredible rate, they’re doing so in a way that many people say is like an unstoppable force. But for a long time it wasn’t really clear if this development was something people were going to like. For a long time it had been said that these cars will only be allowed in restricted areas. And that’s where you have the first generation of self-driving cars to come from. As you’ve seen, the companies that are making money from it are not only growing, they’re doing so in a way that many people claim is like an unstoppable force. But for a long time it was not clear if this development was something the public was going to like. But as I told you earlier, this is where the technology is really going to start growing quickly. One of the first things you’re going to notice right away is how much you’re going to be able to make with the cars. The cars are going to be able to drive over the surface of the freeway or underground, they’re going to be able to go up the hills on the highway. You can actually see that the cars are going to be able to drive a lot farther than the cars before.

Tips of the Day in Software
One day, I was in a meeting with a very senior client manager in charge of all of his software. The client manager had given a presentation to a large group of his senior executives, at their company’s annual conference. The client manager gave the presentation for his group to take notes during the presentation. After giving that presentation, he was leaving the meeting, and as he walked out of the room, some of his team members asked him what he thought of the presentation. They were all disappointed that the presentation was so bad, but he had a nice exit line.
With that line in mind, I thought I’d share, for your entertainment and amusement, an anecdote about a guy who actually went on to do very well for his company and for another company that had a similar experience.
When he got out of the meeting, I’m pretty sure he was already thinking he was about to leave his job that day. He was still tired from all the stress he had been under that day, and he was about to go home.
