“It is not unusual for young women to visit the Emirates. While there are other reasons for this, there is not another country who has such a young population as has been the population of the United Arab Emirates.
“What started out as a dream has come true,” said Yasmine Abdel Aziz. “I left the United Arab Emirates in September 2001. My husband’s family had left and I was alone. I was the sole breadwinner and my husband was in his 70s. I was alone and I needed help. I went to the UAE and I started working at the Emirates University. I found out in September 2001 that the marriage certificate was not on the marriage certificate of the family that had left in 1997, so I had to start over. I began working in the private sector at the Emirates airline and then, in January 2002, I started working at the UAE Telecommunications Company, first as the Vice-Chairman and then as the President until September 2006.
There were no opportunities for me to find and stay with my husband. The UAE stopped offering a scholarship when I graduated. I was working in the private sector and I had to ask the government for a visa. Now I am a government job. I find myself in a very good position.
Yasmine Abdel Aziz has been with the UAE Telecommunications company since September 2006 and she is the Vice President for the company. She started her career in 2001 as a lecturer in the department of telecommunications at the university. In July 2009, she became the Vice President of the company. She has been in the UAE for about 15 years now, but her first job there was in 1997. Yasmine is a woman in over her 30s with clear blue eyes. She is a teacher and an academic, an accountant, and a mother. She lives in the Emirates and works at the Emirates University in Dubai.
Yasmine is married to Abdul Aziz, a telecommunications engineer, who is the Vice President in charge of the company. He also works at the UAE Telecommunications Company in the private sector.

Golden visas for COVID-19 patients in the UAE
Golden visas provided by UAE Embassy in Nigeria and in the neighbouring states, is the first step for patients seeking a visa to travel to Nigeria.
As reported by the Guardian UK, the UAE Embassy in Abuja signed a new special agreement with Nigeria Visa to provide humanitarian visas for the COVID-19 cases.
This agreement is an advance of the earlier humanitarian visas given to the residents of Abuja in March 2020.
The agreement was signed by the UAE Ambassador (Deputy Consul General) in Abuja, Ambassador of the UAE-Nigeria Cooperation to Nigeria, Dr. Ibrahim Ali Haji. In the agreement, the UAE promised to provide a “golden visa” for the COVID-19 cases for the UAE and for Abuja citizens.
It is also a significant step for Nigerian citizens who may have a hard time getting into UAE, given the fact that those who wish to remain in Nigeria may be denied such visa as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
The new agreement also states that the UAE Embassy will inform the people seeking an urgent visa for COVID-19 from Nigeria or from Abuja of the situation regarding the current COVID-19 cases in Nigeria and will facilitate and expedite the process.
The UAE Embassy has also assured that the UAE will remain in contact with the concerned partners and will use all legal means to safeguard the rights of the individuals and their families in the event such cases are not responded to or resolved in a timely manner.
It is important to note that this agreement was signed on the day of the COVID-19 outbreak in Nigeria.
At the same time, the UAE Embassy in Abuja has been communicating with the Department of Immigration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MoFA) as well as the Immigration Police about the above-mentioned arrangement, so that appropriate measures are provided to Nigerians seeking visas from Abuja.
The UAE Embassy in Nigeria has also been arranging a number of consular visits from Nigeria to the UAE and from the UAE Embassy in Abuja to Nigeria, in coordination with the Immigration Authority to assist Nigerians to get their visas in a timely manner.
