Microsoft’s Rational Workflow for IT is a cloud-based workflow automation tool. Using Microsoft’s solution, a software developer or manager can create software that runs on their local server, as well as on a cloud server that is accessible by their local network. That’s right, you could now deploy a solution to a server and the solution could then be accessed remotely using a web browser. Microsoft’s software is now available for free. You’re not paying for it, or even for the solution to Microsoft, but you are actually paying a lot of money to have your company’s processes run on your business software that’s accessed remotely and, in some cases, accessed over a network.

The advantages of the workflow automation solution in the cloud are obvious. It saves money and the time and effort of building and deploying software. It eliminates the need for developers to build new solutions each time they want to automate a process, rather than having to build them one time and deploy them again.

However, there are a few challenges for organizations who want to adopt a workflow solution. While the advantages of workflow automation are clear, there are many problems that organizations experience when they try to adopt a workflow solution. Some of these problems are so common that it may not even seem like there anything to be concerned with. However, there is room for organizations to look at these issues and how to solve them. This is why it’s important to understand these issues and the implications that have on how a company moves toward greater automation of their activities.

However, in the rare event that an Automated Workflow must be customized for an application not available as a ready-to-use package, there are third-party packages available that can also be downloaded for use.

In an Awwliated Software package, there are three basic classes of information that are used to implement an Automated Workflow – Data, Process and Output. The Data class contains the data that an Automated Workflow must consider and use in performing a job. The Process class contains the processes necessary to carry out the Automated Workflow. Output contains the information that the Automated Workflow must produce to be used.

A variety of Data classes, both in the Awwliated Software and third-party packages, can be used to represent the data required to implement an Automated Workflow. One of the most popular is the Data class.
