Open Microscopic Mechanisms.

Article Title: Open Microscopic Mechanisms | Programming.

Abstract: I will argue that the open microscopic models represent the most promising candidate for a theory of computation. Such models offer a unified framework of elementary computations and provide the basis for computation by elementary processes. The main points that I will try to explain with these models are: an important and crucial aspect of computation is the elementary processing of elementary units and, according to some recent theories, for the computation to have any meaning at all. The elementary processing in the micro-level must be carried out by computation in the elementary level. As a consequence, the elementary level must be endowed with a mechanism for computation, in particular, and a general computing mechanism.

In the introductory pages I will try to describe and contrast the various elementary processes, such as counting, addition, multiplication, sorting, and counting sort operations, along with the basic concepts of computer science. In the latter pages I will attempt to give a precise formulation of computation in elementary level and to explain the basic principles of computation in the micro-level.

In the remaining pages of this chapter I will explain the microscopic models by giving examples of computation in microscopic computation models and describing the different ways that the elementary processes can be carried out. After that I will provide some examples of elementary processes that are carried out by computation in the elementary level. Furthermore, I will argue that these models are a good candidate for a theory of computation.

Social Distancing Guidelines for Active Adults

For social distancing guidelines to be effective, the guidelines must be effective in the workplace for everyone.

The New York City Department of Health (NYC DOH) is recommending that businesses (especially retail businesses, such as restaurants and grocery stores) establish procedures to help employees who are at work to self-isolate if there is no one else available to care for them. The NYCHA has developed a Social Distancing Guidelines to help businesses set clear and effective guidelines for all employees who are working from home or who are caring for a caregiver. The guidelines help employees with essential tasks such as making sure to wash their hands, maintaining a safe distance from other people, and maintaining physical distancing that prevents close contact with others, whether the person is your boss, spouse, child, or relative. The guidelines also help ensure that we can all get through this time together in a way that we can all safely do our jobs.

The guidelines were developed on a consensus basis, and the NYCHA provided some of the guidance and suggestions of input about that.

Use telework if possible.

Set clear, consistent and effective work schedules.

Stay home, if at all possible.

Stay informed about government guidance on how to set up the business, and have a plan in case of the need to change them.

Take advantage of health/coronavirus advice and resources, either from the NYCHA or from your company.

Encourage employees to get outside physical activity.

Eliminate or reduce unnecessary travel.

Use the proper cleaning protocols for food preparation and other cleaning methods.

Include clean-up costs as part of the cost of doing business.

Know that there are certain things you may not have easy access to during these times.

Provide food and other resources for employees who are at home.

Give employees who are caring for a family member a way to stay home and care for family while still being able to work.

Establish protocols for health/coronavirus advice and resources that are available.

Provide training for the public.
