Google, as well as the rest of the tech industry, has always been a favorite target of Indian government since its inception. When it comes to the government’s attempts to censor or limit tech companies, it is easy to see how the Narendra Modi government and the Indian IT industry could be the ultimate targets. But, the government of India (New Delhi) and the Indian IT industry have not been much too successful. The last decade has been a period of stagnation and deceleration in India’s growth rate. While there was a certain amount of success in terms of government efforts against India’s IT industry in the country, there has not been significant improvement in the Indian IT industry’s performance in the last decade. The Indian IT industry has suffered from various obstacles that have hindered its growth and has been unable to overcome a myriad of problems, which has impacted the country’s economy and its overall growth. Moreover, the US-India trade war has only made matters worse, as it has forced the Indian government to deal with a larger portion of US imports and has only further strained the relationship between the two countries as a whole. India’s IT industry has not only failed to gain some advantages on the global market but has instead become the target of a series of attempts to curtail its growth. That is why the government of India has sought to strengthen its power base in the country’s IT industry.

Google announced its own smartphone with the ‘IoPhone’ called the ‘IoPhone Next’ at the Google I/O conference today. The I/O event was organized at the All Things Digital conference at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Some of the attendees at the conference, including a number of technology writers, had written about the I/O event. The I/O event was supposed to be a gathering that included many major tech companies as well as a number of smaller tech companies and individuals. However, a number of those that attended were expecting the I/O event to be a tech conference. However, the conference organizers did not provide much of a platform for tech writers to interact with the tech community.

Jio will partner with Telenor for its 4G network on April 26, 2021, in order to offer users “a 4G mobile option” to connect to the network. In return, Telenor is offering Jio users 2GB data pack on April 26, 2021, and 4TB on 31/12 of June 2021, an offer made possible through this partnership between the two telcos. The offer is available to Jio users who have opted for the Jio Pay as You Go (JPAYG) option of Rs. 999, and who are not entitled to the unlimited JPAYG plan. In essence, the 4G network (to be) offered by Telenor is similar to that of Jio’s 4G network. Both the networks will offer the option to tether and use the JPAYG for data usage purposes. Additionally, both the networks now offer the option to receive data from Jio for free through apps downloaded from the network. In terms of connectivity, the 4G network is said to offer speeds of around 5M bps as compared to the 7. 4M bps speeds of 4G network. The Telenor 4G network will be available to Jio users in Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Kolkata, and Chennai, while it will operate in Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru. Jio’s 4G network will cover the entire India, with the focus on the state capitals (Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurgaon) and on the regions (Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru). The offer includes both 4G and 3G connectivity and 4G data (which is said to be available at a maximum speed of 700M bps). In terms of speeds, 1GB data is said to be offered at a rate of 4. 096Kbps while 4GB data is available at a rate of 7.
