In this paper, I present different theoretical frameworks for the design of work models for robots inspired by work performed in virtual reality (VR). My contributions are threefold. First, I propose a theoretical framework for a flexible and modular architecture that allows the design of work models for humanoid robots with different body configurations. In this framework, the robot designer can choose which components to use in the model. Second, I investigate the design of work models for humanoid robots that adapt to the different body movements performed by the end users in VR. Lastly, I propose work models for humanoid robots that perform the actions in VR as well as in the real world. We present work models for VR-based human-robot interaction based on different configurations of the robot and different body movements of the end users.
