Author(s): F. Al-Hariri Abstract: In this thesis, we study the recognition of revenue as it relates to the traffic of a service provider. We study the traffic of a service provider in two different modes, namely the taxi market and the bus market. These two modes have different types of vehicles, namely, taxis are vehicles with four wheels and passenger buses are vehicles with two wheels. In this study, we propose a revenue recognition model that considers the vehicles type, type of road, vehicle position, and the total number of vehicles in the service provider’s fleet. Some results are derived from this model, and some results are obtained via simulations. In this research, we show that the model results are consistent with the historical revenue information of all the service providers. The model also shows that the type of road has a significant impact on the recognition of revenue. In addition, we determine that all the revenue recognized by taxis is less than that recognized by passenger buses. It is concluded that taxis are not worth the investment and should be replaced by public transportation alternatives. Keywords: revenue recognition; vehicle type; taxi market; bus market.

The recognition of revenue is an important economic activity of transportation systems. In this literature of research and practice, there are two main types of recognition: (1) the “gross” recognition, which is a simple calculation that involves the total number of vehicles as a proportion to the total number of vehicles in a fleet, or (2) any other more detailed form of recognition, such as the “net” recognition, which is the sum of the gross revenue of the fleet, the cost of a particular vehicle, and other variables specific to the vehicle or fleet, to the total revenue of the fleet. Here, we propose a simple revenue recognition model. The purpose of this research is to study the impact of the vehicles type, the type of road or road type, the position of the vehicle, the total number of vehicles in a fleet and the type of vehicle on the revenue recognition.

We round up those cool things in hardware that will make you feel like the coolest person you know.

It’s an update that makes the iPod touch feel more like a mobile PC than your typical iPod touch. This new update is being pushed out at the same time as the GizMO update, so it’s currently only available via the App Store for the iPhone and Android at the moment.

The new GizMO app also brings new features, including the ability to add your own music libraries and photo galleries, and it adds a few more options to the iPhone home screen to quickly swap home screens between iDevices and your GizMO.

There’s a new gadget out for those who are looking to put one side of the house’s picture on your DVR — the Capsule TV.
