What if? That’s the title of Alan Dershowitz’s latest work.
I read The Arabs – Their Culture and Their Strategy last week, a year ago, in September 1991. I had no idea at the time that it would go on to make the front pages of The New York Times Magazine and a huge bestseller.
The book is subtitled “a history of the Middle East since 1948,” and its title is the title of the first chapter.
There is a story about the way in which the Palestinians have been governed since their defeat in 1948.
The chapter starts in 1973, when Israel, Israel, was still called the State of Israel, and the Palestinians were still under a brutal, corrupt and oppressive military dictatorship ruling over them. The Palestinians are described as “the despised peasants of the Arab world. ” Their only hope, they say, is through the “goodness” of a man they regard as the Messiah. A man who they perceive as a spiritual Savior, called the Messiah.
The Messiah is none other than the Jewish leader of the day, Adolf Hitler.

Where should the Carolina Panthers be in 2021? At the moment, we are just a few short years away from the franchise’s first 100-plus-year anniversary as a modern, professional football franchise.
On the Internet, the most prominent and accurate answer is probably a tie for third.
The Panthers are going to hit the books on their upcoming campaign with a full house, but they will be out of the playoff picture before it even begins.
“One of the coolest things that happened to me in 2017 was the NFL draft. It was on ESPN. To see the Panthers draft, from the draft to the first day, to that first pick, I’ve never seen anything like that. It was like, the Panthers drafted for a reason. I’ve never seen anything like that.
“The season ended with a lot of changes, and we’re still looking to make sure that we make it a healthy year. Last year was a healthy year, if you want to talk about a healthy year and a successful season, and we expect a lot of that to be the expectation.
“After the draft, I was excited about the opportunity to get these guys in training camp, and that’s very much been the case, because we have some young guys coming on-board. We wanted to get as many guys in as fast as you could and as we could. I’m very excited about that. As I said earlier, the last year was a healthy year, and we’re still looking to make sure that we make it a healthy year.
“I think we’ve been able to get better in just about a year and a half… We got to the playoffs in 2017, we got to the NFC title game in our second year as a franchise. You would be very surprised the number of teams that could have made that.
