New York for seniors: An Official Partner.

New York for seniors: An Official Partner.

New York City is known for its culture, but its most important asset is what it offers to seniors. The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (NYCDMH) Senior Health Fair is this year’s event, bringing together health professionals from all over the city to show the most up-to-date services offered to the old people of New York City. On October 3rd and 4th, the festival will bring with it more than 90,000 senior citizens, some of whom were given a heads up on what is happening just days before.

The event is a chance for all New York-based professionals to come together and help spread the word about the latest medical and wellness services available. The NYCDMH is looking to make a bigger impact on seniors when it hosts the festival.

The festival is designed to let people know that the health and wellness of the senior population is more than capable of giving New Yorkers the best. It is a chance for older people to get together, give thanks to the city while also learning new ways to stay in good health.

In recent years, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYCDMH) has been making a big effort to reach out to older adults. Earlier this fall, the agency set up an online chat platform called “Ask Health” to connect seniors with various doctors and health-related experts in order to help with their health issues. One of the services that had the largest impact on the elderly community was a “Senior Health Fair”, an event on October 3rd and 4th to let people know they are not alone and to educate them on a wide array of wellness services including health advice. At the same time, the conference was also intended to help senior citizens feel comfortable in the process of sharing their experiences with one of the largest organizations in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut areas.

The Senior Health Festival is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 3rd and Saturday, October 4th.

JavaScript – Part 4: Array.

A while back before JavaScript had prototype support in it, I had to go through and fix a bug in a certain piece of our code. It required me to change some of the way the looping code worked in the for-each loop’s condition expression. The syntax for writing the condition expression changed, and it caused me to rework a lot of our code – but after the fact.

I’ve written a summary of the syntax and how to fix it up again, so if you want to know more about JavaScript and the for-each loop, read this.

This week I wrote a little article on a topic that I want to revisit here in a bit more detail – not necessarily because I thought that writing my own code would help me in other areas, but because it helped me to understand that I can actually fix a bug and it didn’t require me to rewrite a bunch of lines, or create new syntax for me to understand. If there’s a certain topic you want me to cover from my blog that’s not covered here, please feel free to let me know and I’ll post it.
