Alao is set to become the first African woman to play in the Olympics as she took part in the 2017 World University Games. She was praised as the best player in the final.

Nigeria will be playing first against the USA, who has the second-highest team ranking in world. After beating the Netherlands and Spain, Nigeria will be looking to defend their World Cup title, and it would be a great opportunity for them to show that they are not just one match away from being one of the top teams in the world.
