The National Emergency Medical Technicians Association (NEMT) will be holding a number of public meetings in cities and towns throughout the country. This meeting is being organized by the NEMT National Coordination Committee to promote understanding and understanding of the roles, responsibilities and duties of EMS providers, in the service delivery system.
The NEMT National Coordination Committee will organize and host public workshops, presentations, training events and other events to educate citizens and stakeholders. The first public workshop will be held on 26th April at the National Emergency Academy in Bloemfontein.
There will be another conference on 8th May at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). NEMT South African National Coordination Committee will have a separate meeting on 9th May at the University. NEMT National Coordination Committee will hold a public event on 14th May at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University on the subject of NEMT roles and responsibilities in the South African healthcare system.
The NEMT National Coordination Committee has a mission to be a conduit of dialogue in the South African healthcare delivery system, and is committed to promoting understanding among the public.
South Africa currently has a shortage of emergency medical technicians with the potential for this shortage to get worse as the country undergoes increased urbanisation and other demographic shifts as well as the growing demand for health care services.
As EMS providers, we must be more proactive in finding new ways of helping to meet this demand. EMS providers have the opportunities today to expand their capacity and improve their skills and knowledge through education, continuing professional development, and various forms of mentoring.
Our role and obligations must include identifying the areas where we have gaps, knowledge, and expertise in our respective areas of contribution to the South African healthcare system and providing our skills and knowledge for these areas through an appropriate education, training, and mentoring programme.
We must also ensure that we are fully aware of the requirements for continued competence in continuing professional education, and that we are able to participate in continuing professional development in accordance with recognised standards.
In recognition of this need, the NEMT National Coordination Committee is hosting a number of public meetings.

Today is the 5th week of the Python programming season. This is a time of intense development, and I’ve been doing so much work. I spent yesterday working on a small library that I’m using in my personal project as my backend for authentication. I had a good amount of code that made use of the Django Python framework that I had no interest in taking over in my own project. So, I’ve been making use of the Django web framework and the API provided by Django’s django.
