So how do I build a game with all the nice stuff that I’m used to in games with vanilla javascript? Well that is a bit tricky for me so I’m going to break it down into 2 parts. The first part is the easy part.

I’m going to cover building just about everything I can think of for building a game. This is all stuff that is easily covered with “Node” which is an open source platform for building apps. This is important for me because I want to learn node and I want to learn the node ecosystem and its tools. I don’t want to stick to just a single platform but something that is easy to learn but full of awesome community support.

Node is great but it does require you to have your own code running on your computer. For that part I do use a virtual machine or something. But that gets a bit annoying and hard to maintain especially if you’re just starting out on this.

I found a great post on setting up node for development from the creator of the code here. It walks through setting up node very step by step and it’s great.

In the future I will be making a few projects that will be pretty easy and well documented. For now I am just going to build an application that I will then send to my friend who wants to use it.

Download and install the node. js distribution. This will require you to have superuser access.

When I first joined the gaming community on IGN, I had this idea to try out a few different games. I really wasn’t sure it was possible, but I decided to try it. I had some friends who had gotten their Minecraft copies, so I grabbed one and took it home. I started playing with it again and noticed something was wrong. My game was sluggish. I tried it a few times and it was all fine, but after three hours after I restarted my computer, the sluggishness was apparent. I was very frustrated that my computer would not be able to display any of the games on my desktop. I had to reinstall my games on it a few times to get things to play. I was extremely upset, but I knew that was normal for a game to be slow. I decided to take a break and try to give myself a break.

Then I went to Steam and tried to install the first Minecraft version that was available for free.
