[Update: Microsoft says they have been contacted by affected customers and will not be releasing the security patch.

On the eve of the Windows version 11 (codenamed RTM) release, security researchers at The Piranha Team wrote a blog post detailing the vulnerabilities behind the ransomware attacks Microsoft has been reporting for months, which they dubbed “Windows 11 Red. ” The blog post said the hackers have used known vulnerabilities to target users of Microsoft’s Windows 10 version (formerly known as “W10”) and have made it very difficult for customers to protect their systems. The vulnerabilities have been dubbed “Windows 10 Red” simply because it’s their version of Windows targeted in the attacks. The latest batch consists of over 2,000 Windows 10 Red attacks that have been targeted throughout the past 24 hours.

Today, after The Piranha Team (TPT) published the blog post and informed Microsoft of the targeted attacks, the company has announced that they have not received any ransom demand from the attacker. TPT claims the ransom was “in the millions. ” The ransom demands come from ransomware families known as Stuxnet and Flame. The ransom request is reportedly for around $300 US dollars and is in addition to a payment option for using Windows Update.

“The ransom request indicates that the attackers are very aware that a ransom will be sent to them. These are clearly extortionate demands that do not reflect any goodwill on our end. It is our belief that the ransom demand is not what is being asked for but rather a way for the attackers to gain information from us.

“Our work to address the ongoing threat to all users around the world has been ongoing for more than a year. Recently, TPT published a blog post about ongoing ransomware activity in December that described recent activity by a cybercriminal group known as “Kaspersky Lab. ” We have been in direct communications with Kaspersky Lab since late 2017. Our investigation led us to believe that TPT’s claims of the ransom requests were a direct result of the investigation and we are continuing to assess the situation.

This is a complicated situation that requires more information.

On September 30, 2009, the rumor was passed from a top-tier expert to the Microsoft team: “It is true that the team has been working hard on Windows 7, however, the team will not be releasing Windows 7 as a free Windows product, instead, it will be bundling it as a part of Windows 7 Ultimate. Since the launch of Windows 7, there has been a significant delay in the launch and some consumers are still waiting for the product to start selling. What’s Next for Windows 11 Pre-Preview?

If you had any doubt about the future of Windows 10 or Windows Server 2012 R2 when Microsoft previewed the software for the first time in February, you’ll find the new Windows 10 Pro-based operating system out today. With Windows 10, Microsoft will continue to provide a great user experience based on the best of Windows 10 technology and modern Windows 10 design, and will also continue to enhance the Windows desktop experience with a new set of applications.

Security: As one of the world’s most secure operating systems for the enterprise, Windows 10 Pro uses a strong set of security features that makes it impossible to open a malicious Web page in an unprotected network.

Faster and more secure file management: With Windows 10 Pro, enterprises can dramatically improve their time-to-fix-issues with storage, file management, and other areas in an industry that was historically slow to adopt these areas.

Improved user experiences: These new users will be able to more easily create custom Windows experiences — whether it’s a new version of Office, for example. In addition, the new Windows 10 Pro will be available with a new set of mobile apps and a powerful new Edge browser to accelerate access to the web and to the entire world of mobile devices.

And, perhaps most excitingly, Windows 10 Pro will be available with two very different user experiences. The first will be based on Windows 10 Pro with Group Policy settings that allow a user to easily manage and manage Windows 10 Pro users in the organization. While some organizations may already make the transition from Windows to Windows 10 Pro if you are an existing Windows 10 Pro user, this new setting allows users to easily create new Windows 10 Pro users that can be used on any Windows 10 Pro PC that is in a Group Policy domain.

The second experience will be based on Windows 10 Mobile and the Windows 10 Apps for Mobile, which enable users to easily use the Windows 10 apps and services available on a Windows 10 Mobile device. While it is hard to imagine that Windows 10 Mobile users could need to make a move to Windows 10 Pro, Microsoft is focusing heavily on this transition.
