INTRODUCTION The Google Cloud Security Awards is founded by Google and the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). This year I will be recognizing the achievements of the Google Cloud Security Partner of the Year for a number of achievements from security vendors in the cloud security space and an overall year of security excellence. There are a lot of good things going on this year and it is truly a great time to be in the business of security. The primary reason I think Google Cloud Security Partners are such a fantastic organization is because they are all doing something they love to do. I see a lot of overlap and overlap in the companies that have achieved the honor of being named as such. Each year we are able to pick out some of the great companies participating, but also some of the bad companies. At the end of the day, however, each of the businesses do work towards the same goal and that goal is to protect users, systems, and data from malicious attacks. I think this is a great accomplishment and an honor we should all be very proud and pleased with. I would like to personally thank Jeff and his team for the hard work they have displayed each year. Not only for their work in assisting in all the new security innovations that were introduced this year, but also for the continued collaboration with Google in the security space to help make this an even more successful year. Thank you, Jeff! I would also like to thank Peter Zumthor for his many contributions to the 2018 Google Cloud Security Partner Awards. Google was very nice to my team, as they did not want to disappoint me with their lack of previous awards. I think this was a very good way to continue the work of the companies, and it made me very proud. I was very happy to see an acknowledgement of the overall security excellence of security vendors and of the security community at large. I believe Google has made the whole thing just a little bit easier with their participation, without all of the hard work. This year I am also looking forward to the 2020 CSA awards, starting with the International Cloud Symposium (ICoSO) in June at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. I had the good fortune to be in San Francisco to see the conference this year. I would really like to congratulate Jeff, as well as the winners, all of the companies that participated in the awards.

Google Cloud security is a growing initiative, with the world’s largest provider of public, private and hybrid cloud services announcing integration with Google Enterprise Security, a new offering of Google’s cloud security offering. Google Enterprise Security will integrate Google’s own cloud security service with the existing Google Cloud Platform Security offering, which Google says is the only security service for the public cloud.
Today has been a busy day for Google Cloud security, which has integrated directly with Azure, giving customers the ability to manage their cloud security from the Azure Management Console. This is a great way for cloud admins to manage their Google Cloud Security resources from Azure.
Google announced a new offering of cloud services in the GCP Security offering, where they offered integration with multiple cloud platforms to help organizations develop a secure cloud and enable rapid change. GCP Security will also offer Google’s own cloud security service called Google Cloud Security. GCP Security will continue to support the existing Google Cloud Platform Security offering.
Google Cloud Security is a completely new service that will integrate cloud security with GCP Security to enable a unified security experience for public cloud admins. In addition to allowing them to manage their services from the Google Cloud Management Console, GCP Security will allow admins to integrate their Google Cloud Security services with GCP Security, ensuring a unified and secure cloud environment for their users.
Google Cloud Security will be offered starting in January, 2019. Google says these integrations with GCP Security and Azure are designed to enable Google to have the best overall approach to cloud security, and they will work together as single offering.
Google Cloud Platform Services is a completely new offering of cloud services that will offer GCP Security as a core offering to ensure a unified cloud experience for the public cloud. Google Cloud Platform Services will bring the Google Cloud Platform Security offering for Google Cloud Platform, along with a set of integrations and a cloud management console, up to a similar security offering.
GCP Security will provide a security service to manage your cloud resources through a unified security experience. This will include an easy-to-use and comprehensive management console that will provide visibility into your cloud resources.

Tips of the Day in Network Security
In the past week alone, I’ve read about a new ransomware attack spreading across the internet that is targeting more than 100,000 systems and costing victims money. I’ve also read about another ransomware attack and a series of ransomware scams that are spreading through the internet. And, in just the past month, I’ve learned about yet another new malware outbreak that can also be launched from a website.
Today, I want to focus on a new ransomware threat that has become more severe in recent years but is less known than other ransomware operations. And I’m going to talk about the need to protect your information from such attack as it is also an opportunity to protect your data from a new generation of malware attacks.
The first ransomware attack I want to discuss is the new ransomware threat called WannaCry. It specifically targets computers around the world.
