So, the dairy industry has chosen to implement an integrated, standalone herd management software application on the farm level for the detection of bovine brucellosis, and to integrate this software into the existing cattle-keeping infrastructure. The developed software system is a multi-function, single source, user-friendly, integrated livestock management and dairy cattle tracking and management platform. The software is based on an open-source system (Linux-based) developed using Microsoft’s. Net technology and Microsoft Office’s (Windows) 2003 and 2007 platform. The software is developed using open-source. Net technology using C# and SQL server and the MS Excel plug-in for Excel 2007. The software integrates the data from cattle, milk and production systems and the feed, management, and veterinary system. Several features include: 1) A simple, easy to use, intuitive user interface which includes a “Quick-Start” screen, which is used for quick identification of the infected herd. This is followed by a “Quick-Cure” screen which helps the user to identify the cows that have become infected. These are followed by a “Quick-Brucellosis” screen that is used for quickly identifying the infected herds. The “Quick-Brucellosis” screen helps the user to find out how many infected herds there are in the entire farm based on the cow identification screen, and then identify the infected herd and confirm it. There is a “Brucellosis Database” screen that tracks all the information that is collected and displayed on the screen.

The STAR detector, which was developed over a decade of effort from collaboration between the U. and Russia, will be upgraded (and improved) in the coming years. To complete the Upgrade, the STAR detector will be upgraded to run at 2. 76 TeV with a higher data collection rate than is currently available. The upgrade of the detector is performed in two stages, with the first stage being a high-level beam test. The second stage, with the upgrade, will be a full upgrade of the detector, with the final detector construction being performed in 2019. A schematic of the STAR Upgrade is shown in the figure above, with the first upgrade stage indicated in green. The upgrade will take approximately two years to go from initial design. During the first stage of upgrade, a beam test is performed to demonstrate the performance of the upgrade system, including the full range of performance options for the detectors that will be upgraded. The Beam Test is scheduled for 2015. The complete upgrade of the STAR detector, including the full range of performance options, will be performed in the second and third stages of the upgrade.
