Accidental Activation of Cruise Control in Model 3 and Model Y

Why would one activate Cruise Control in Model 3? Because it works.
You know what a cruise control system is? A boat
has a very tiny engine, the fuel tank or a gas tank, it has a small electric motor and a throttle and it’s controlled by a small computer.
Cruise control is the system that tells the boat how far it is going to make it go, in feet, inches, or more miles per hour. Cruise control is also called the “Yachting” program because when you activate the cruise control, it tells the boat how fast you want it to go, so you can control the speed of the boat.
First, this is how a cruise control system works.
If you turn on cruise control then, the computer turns on the engine and the engine starts making the power that you put in its fuel supply. That power gets converted to a little electric motor. It also powers the throttle, which you use to turn the boat.
This will happen, of course, if there’s a computer, and if there’s a fuel tank on the boat.
The computer, through the input of which you can turn the throttle to change the speed of the boat, will see the amount of fuel that’s in the fuel tank and then it will calculate how far you can make the boat go in feet, or what you call the “cruise control limit”.
If the fuel flow is not high enough, then the computer will not allow you to go as far as you want.
And here’s the good news: Now all this can be done while there’s fuel in the fuel tank. The fuel gets pumped out of the fuel tank, you put it in a fuel jug, and you have fuel flowing back into the tank, and your fuel gauge on the dials up and down depending on how much fuel you put in. The computer will monitor the amount of fuel in the tank, and if it’s running low then the computer will let you know.
And if you’re out of fuel in the tank you can let it go, and it’ll start back up again.
But if you’re not out of fuel in the fuel tank, there are still some things you can do.
First, if you have cruise control on, you can change the power setting of the computer so that the fuel flow is higher.
