We are excited to announce our new 0x API, 0x Swap Chain (0x Swapchain), enabling anyone to build a DEX Aggregator. As a full-stack developer, I build software for the internet. This is where I spend most of my time. I’m a big believer in open source software — even if I don’t fully agree with the philosophy or the details. For this article, I’ll focus mainly on the software that I’ve written.
My background: full stack web development with C# (MVC 2) web application development (ASP. NET MVC 3), I was the maintainer of the open source project named GitHub.
This application is the result of a lot of sleepless nights, and I mean “sleeping” in the literal sense of the word.
Now the plan: I’m going to write a new version of this application. It’s going to be an Android app that uses my new mobile web application. I’m going to develop a new frontend for the project, and make it open source.
The last project that I did was a mobile web application with node, typescript and react. My goal with this new version is to focus on writing quality code in a functional language — this will be my first open-source software.
I received an email that I’d sent to my peers. It was sent by some friends who I’ve never met and probably never will. It was the end of February 2019. Since then I’ve been following this group of people and their projects.
When I got my mail I immediately started to read it — and it struck me that they’re all my age. They’re all in a position similar to me in the industry — they work hard and have a lot of potential.
Each project they sent me a link to my email, and I took it.
Multi-chaining Brave Wallets
It’s now a full year since the launch of the Brave Browser, and the community has been growing. To say that we’ve seen a lot of interest in the Brave Browser (BBR), is an understatement. In the last 4 months, Brave Browser has had more than 150,000 users register on the platform.
In 2017, BBR’s number of daily active users (DAU) reached 150,000. This number has grown by 50,000 every month since the beginning of the year.
We believe that the community’s positive response to BBR reflects the strong interest in a safe and secure privacy-focused browser: the latest Brave Browser. Our BBR is a fully peer-to-peer browser that uses a decentralized DNS solution. It is the first browser that leverages the blockchain to provide real-time tracking and privacy features.
The Brave Browser is open source, meaning that anyone can fork it, and the team is committed to continuously improving the browser.
The Brave Browser’s privacy features were the subject of recent news: in February, the New York Attorney General’s office brought forth charges against Mozilla, Mozilla’s parent company, with regards to its allegedly deceptive privacy policies.
Brave’s developers have also been actively working on features that add more privacy to BBR’s experience. Many of them have been submitted to the BBR Hackers for Review (BBR H4R) program, an initiative that aims at helping developers find bugs in browser code and improve their code.
Also in February, we published the Brave Network’s latest beta release. This version includes a number of exciting features, which include: an improved BBR tracker, a redesigned privacy UI, and more.

The Brave browser is already the most widely used web browser in the world, but today, Brave is also offering a privacy alternative: one that doesn’t rely on a single company to provide it with data, but instead leverages third-party services to create an Internet-connected browser. In this Medium article, the Brave team details exactly how this browser works, and its potential impact on privacy in the Brave browser’s future.
The current privacy landscape in the Brave browser is fairly simple: users can choose to share their browsing history with third-party companies, and we’ve built a decentralized search engine behind Brave’s search engine that uses information from the user’s private browsing history to do some research.
However, in addition to providing a privacy-oriented browser, we’ve also begun to promote a cryptocurrency based on Brave, which enables Brave users to use their browser without ever interacting directly with another entity.
Brave, unlike some other browsers, is a 100% open, privacy-centric project, so we’re working to create a decentralized search engine to work with other open-source technologies, rather than build a closed ecosystem around privacy.
Brave is currently in private beta, and many people are already testing it. The main development effort is now focused on making Brave more decentralized and making it possible to use a non-Google-like search engine with little to no installation. In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be releasing our privacy infrastructure and user experience, and we’re already working to build both an open API and an open database to power all of our projects in the future.
The Brave team is proud of the work they’ve put into their browser, and we’re thrilled to provide the option for users of privacy to try it out before we make changes that cause its potential impact on users to become known.
The Brave browser currently does not search for web pages, but rather uses a combination of local and remote connections to get information on all of the resources on the local network.
Tips of the Day in Cryptocurrency
Cryptocurrency and the blockchain. They are all buzzwords, used interchangeably to describe a digital currency that can be tracked and traded on a peer-to-peer network that makes it easy to transfer funds across a continent or to buy a product through a mobile phone. Yet, there is very little in common between these two worlds. When we think of blockchain or cryptocurrency, we picture some abstract, decentralized system, where transactions are confirmed and recorded in an immutable ledger that cannot be modified. Yet no such system exists that is used as money today. That is where a few of us in the cryptocurrency community come in.
We’re not talking about gold or shares in a big company here, but in digital currency we can trade virtual tokens of a different type: coins, with their unique form of code and digital signatures that can be checked or forged.
