Microsoft Access is one of the most feature rich packages on the market. The company has released updates that address the most pressing issues for Access users: security and file system issues.
It is important to note that these updates are available for MSDN subscribers only and not for general public. There are a few different versions of the update; in the following list, MSDN subscribers are highlighted. If a version is missing, check the website.
This is the first release of the Access update package for MSDN subscribers. If you are a user of the Access product, and for whatever reason you have not yet received this update, you can check it on the Access website.

The latest version of the update package for Office Access (Office 2003, Office 2007, and Office 2007 SP1) addresses several security issues that are specific to the Office Access program (MSDN Access).
The Office 2003 and Office 2007 Office Access packages are identical. For Office 2007, the latest version of the package is version 3.
Microsoft Office Access is the world’s most widely used Access application. It is used to store documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other data on the client’s PC. It has become the world’s most popular access tool for business employees and students, and is used by thousands of companies every day.
A number of security issues have been identified in the Access product, including unauthorized users, and access from multiple computers.
This update is aimed primarily at improving the security of Office Access in Exchange Server. It does not address issues within Microsoft Office.
The file system update for Microsoft Access includes Windows registry updates, system integrity checks, and application updates. There are two different versions for Office Access: Office 2003 Office Access Update 2. 00 and Office 2007 Office Access Upgrade 3.
Insider Observations on Microsoft’s Visual Refresh
Microsoft and Nokia are at it again. Last week I took part in a small hackathon in Munich, Germany, as part of the company’s annual Windows event. We discussed some topics and got a brief idea of what Microsoft was working on, but ultimately, that is all there is to it. The key is that the company has really made some drastic changes to its product lineups, and that has led to an exciting range of new products.
As usual, Nokia, with a few exceptions, is not in on the action. So I’m going to be talking about what the company’s newest phones and televisions are all about.
The N9 Plus is not to be confused with the Nokia N9, the successor to Nokia’s first full-fledged smartphone. The N9 Plus has a number of striking design changes, with bolder, more colorful and eye-catching fonts, an improved front camera, support for 5G connectivity and a longer battery (at least 300mAh). Unlike the N9, the main body of the N9 Plus is flat like the N8, which means that it is not a huge leap to convert it to a smartphone. It’s also not a huge leap to upgrade the software on the N9 Plus, as it now has the same camera application and the same screen features as the N8.
Nokia is making a major push to provide more value to its customer. The company introduced the all-new N8, which is just as the company’s previous Lumia phones, but is slightly more premium in looks and technology. Despite being an all-new handset, the N8 has the same camera app and the same screen features as the N9 Plus. If you look very closely, there’s a very thin vertical line running along the top of the screen, which is a much-needed difference.
The N8 has a full 5G modem built into it, which is a pretty impressive new feature. The N9 Plus is currently sold with a 3G model with LTE support, which is not yet available for the N8.
Ooo round!

I recently had the opportunity to use the Ooo system, also known as the Ooo-Ooo system or OOO-Box, in conjunction with my desktop workstation. Ooo is a very interesting new piece of electronic hardware for the desktop that has a range of very interesting hardware related applications. When I first learned of Ooo, I had no idea of what it was. I heard about it on the news when it first hit the desktop and was immediately interested. I was then presented with a sample board which was a lot like the new XOOM, but unlike the XOOM, it was very similar in appearance. I was not told what the hardware was intended for, but I was given a chance to sample the Ooo board and did so.
The Ooo version is based on the same Intel platform the XOOM is based on, but it has additional functionality and a different form factor. It is available directly from Intel for about $79. It ships with no additional drivers and is essentially a stripped down version of the XOOM as far as the display is concerned, so you have to install the video drivers that come as part of the XOOM package. I am now very happy with my decision to purchase the Ooo board and recommend anyone looking for a more powerful way to use their computer to look for it on Amazon.
The hardware comes complete with the Ooo software running as a guest OS in a VDS environment. It is a very powerful software that has several interesting application scenarios built in. The one application I am most excited about is a form of video editing.
As a desktop user, I have used some really powerful video editing apps. I use Premiere Elements, Final Cut Pro X and Apple Final Cut Pro X, in order of preference. I can also use Camtasia for video chatting and have used V-Wave, Cineplex, and ProTools. And I did some video editing when I was in college, but all from my laptop.
When you are at the desktop and want to see something, the only tool I want is a video editing application.
Microsoft’s “visual refresh” for Office?
The Office 2010 Refresh (not to be confused with the Windows 10 feature called “Home Premium”) is Microsoft’s attempt to remake Office to fit the Windows 8-like Windows 7 platform. We asked Microsoft’s Scott Guthrie for an overview of some of the changes and he was not very forthcoming. In the end, we decided to write up our thoughts on the subject for our readers.
Office, the product, has had a difficult time getting people to use it. The whole company seems to have lost interest, or has simply ignored a lot of what Office had become.
One of the main reasons for this is that it’s a product. To convince someone to spend a lot of money with Office, some company has to put on a show. The company has to give them a slick presentation with pictures of happy people, and it has to convince them that the product really does work.
Microsoft tried to do just that for Office. But to do it right, the company needed to think more about what the product is than what it does. It also needed to go into more detail about how the product works. So, that meant writing more about how Office works and how Microsoft thinks about it.
The idea of “visual refresh” for Office is that Microsoft is trying to refresh Office so that it can be used on a Windows 8-like platform. Microsoft’s Office 2007 was the classic Windows Presentation Foundation, and Office 2009 was the Windows Present Foundation — version 3.
Office 2010, which is what we use now has a lot in common with Office 2007, but it shares only a few things, and so has less in common with Office 2009.
It’s pretty easy to understand what Microsoft is trying to do if you think about what Office was meant to be. It was meant to be a replacement for Word 2003 and Word 97, and the Office suite was meant to replace Lotus 1-2-3, WordPerfect, and Docx.
These are classic enterprise applications, a lot like Lotus 1-2-3. They are simple applications, and the Microsoft designers had to make them easy to use. In that sense, Office 2010 is like a Lotus 1-2-3 style Word.
